Last year of high school was the last time I did it.

I love long walks...especially at night, I love candy, and wearing costumes is fun, too. Wasn't going to give it up for as long as possible.

Cops actually stopped me and searched my bag at one point. I guess they saw someone as old as me out and assumed I was packing TP, silly string, or whatever else to vandalize houses, and not just a guy who loved trick or treating.

Similar to this. Went once or twice when I was little and stopped going in 3rd grade because I thought Halloween is stupid and I wanted to play Earthbound. Haven't been since other than to take a girlfriend's little sisters out.

The first and only time I went trick or treating was when I was 16. I was in eleventh grade and my friend found out that I'd never gone. He said we had to go, not just because I needed the experience, but to see the looks on people's faces.

My parents are evangelical Christians and didn't let us celebrate Halloween growing up, but by 16 I was old enough to just do it anyway.

10, and I barely went that year... trick or treating was literally my least favourite part of Halloween.

I'll admit that 14 was a little old on my part, but it's still disappointing to see how young some of you were when you stopped. That's one of the joys of childhood, and some of you missed out.

I think it depends why people stopped... My parents tell it like they had to drag me out of the house, and I honestly only liked dressing up, all the decorations, and watching spooky TV shows and movies. I didn't enjoy walking around in the cool air, begging for treats.

It wasn't legal in the country I live in back when I was a child. So....I never got to experience this.

I want to say 10 or 11, not sure. My "neighborhood" was basically a bunch of farm houses so trick or treating in my area was always a pain. I needed a parental escort and I had to walk a mile just to hit 5 or so houses. Plus I was never big on candy so a bag of trick or treat candy lasted me until January.

Eventually my parents asked me if I wanted to go out and I just said "nah, just give me the leftover candy from your bowl". That was pretty much it for me and trick or treating.
