What do you think would happen?

won't be possible if manafort's investigation leads to material that ties trump in to any part of the case, incl something as simple as obstruction of justice for knowing about it for too long and not reporting him

Democrats would bitch, Trump's approval rating would drop 2-4 points, the GOP utter platitudes, and then nothing would change.

Granted, that situation changes if they go after state charges as well as has been rumored, as Trump can't pardon those.

Would basically be an admission of guilt, due to his ties and the time frame it would be grounds for impeachment, he'd burn.

Honestly, if trump ends up with his head on the chopping block I would be happy. But that's unlikely even if he killed every member of congress with his bare hands. Well. With a gun, since he has baby hands.

Grounds for impeachment? Anything is grounds for impeachment, as it's a political process. What is, and isn't, impeachable is nothing more than what 50% + 1 of the House says is impeachable at a given moment.

With the current GOP congress? Not holding my breath on them going forward with impeachment proceedings on anything. They're terrified of his base at the very least and want him to rubber stamp their agenda at most.

Impeachment. If anything, Lindsey Graham has already stated the GOP senate's position on Trump's interference with the investigation. If he doesn't let Mueller do his job properly, he would be on the grounds of impeachment.

right now the WH is maintaining that any wrongdoings by Manafort happened on his own time and not when he was working with Trumpy. if they pardon him they'll be totally backpedaling on their previous statement. there's no way they would actu--- lol who am i kidding

Because if Manafort is guilty, Trump should want to punish him. By not doing so shows that he is protecting him.

Because he's going to have his name in the mouth of somebody up high as a witness. As a result, manafort will have to testify. If he gets pardoned before then, the affidavits will still be released. And if it's after? Then it means trump knows that it's a lie that manafort is giving. Either way, it means trump wants to avoid being implicated.

I could be wrong, but this is hardly the first time many have said that Trump's on his last legs before. Long since past expecting that to ever be the case.
