They're all good in different ways. Comparing them directly ignores how they differ, which I'd say is a mistake.

I much prefer SM64. I love collectathons and I was often bored with Galaxy. 242 stars is a lot, especially when it's so linear. I was never excited about the Galaxy games but I'm very excited about Odyssey since it seems to go back to the SM64/Sunshine formula.

Galaxy is better than 64 in every way, though. Except for exploration, which is to be expected because SM64 was a game about exploration, while SMG was a platformer. --- This is my signature. It exists to keep people from skipping the last line of my posts. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I respectfully disagree.
Although I do agree both Galaxy games give more hours of fun/enjoyment, I personally prefer SM64. --- Mario Maker https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/profile/thegreatnoodle Noodles Games: Part 1; http://txt.do/daqoz Part 2; http://txt.do/daq65 ... Copied to Clipboard!

I just don't enjoy the linear layout of the Galaxy levels, I like open world platforming like in Banjo Kazooie better (which is what Odyssey looks to be).
