Sweet Home or resident evil REmake

Sweet home is amazing... But man is the co-released film version baddddd

Probably one of the Darkstalkers games. If not that, *maybe* either Ninja Assault or House of the Dead 2. Zombies Ate My Neighbors and its knockoff, Monster Madness, would also rank. Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles would also rank pretty highly.

Most horror games don't really do it for me. Condemned 2 kinda bored me, Dementium 2: The Ward was meh, there are tons of survival horror titles which I don't care about, etc. Dead Space was a major letdown as well. There was one or two great scenes -- such as when the lights go out and you hear spooky shit all around you -- but most of the time it was a grind. I did platinum it all the same.

Hmm. Any horror counts? Because for example, a lot of people don't consider F.E.A.R. a horror game, even though it has a shit ton of jumpscares and fuck me moments.

If so, then F.E.A.R (Horror/Thriller FPS), Penumbra (First person survival horror/adventure) and Parasite Eve (Horror/RPG) are probably my all-time favorites.

Honorable mention to Resident Evil: Nemesis, Silent Hill 2 and Fatal Frame II which didn't make the top 3.

I will give my vote for Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. It really nailed Lovecraft, though a bit clunky and had some bugs, was such a great game.

I would probably vote Eternal Darkness 2nd and Resident Evil 2 rounding out the top 3.

Fovorite to play or most scary?

RE2 is my favorite game of all time, but as an adult, it's almost hars to see how I was ever scared by the game.

As for scariest?

1) Slender: the Arival
3) REmake
2) Silent Hill

Special mention to RE7, which had one of my favorite horror atmospheres ever.

Agree 100%.. It's funny how that one hallway where the dogs jump through the windows is so memorable to so many people
