56 y/o Oregon High School Science Teacher Richard Johnston was suspended after he brought a LOADED GUN to School!!

He is on paid leave at Sprague High School after students spotted him carrying the gun!! They alertd officials near the end of the school day

He had a permit to carry but it is illegal to have a weapon or even a lookalike to have a weapon on school property or during school sponsored events.

he's been a teacher for 25 years as he enjoys hiking, fishing and hunting

Assistant Principal Lillian White said there was no threat to students or staff as they are investigating.

Parents have mixed reactions to this as Bryant Dehut said if the individual is trained then they should be able to carry a concealed weapon on school grounds. He said "Does a no weapon" sign stop a bank robber? Does it stop anything, any type of action? No, but as long as we're prepared for it, it should be absolutely allowed"

Others were not as supportive as another said "I really don't think he should have had it. It could've gotten into the wrong hands"

Do you think Teachers should be allowed to carry heat on campus??.

well within certain areas such as schools or privately owned companies that dont allow it

Same thing with the Age of Consent in america, a teen can be the age of consent but its still illegal for a teacher to have sexual relations with them since they are considered "in a position of authority". Thats why you see so many duckbear topics about sexy female teachers banging teen guys.

But sex with minors isn't in the constitution...

Courts have ruled that it's legal for certain places to deny the ability to carry a gun in, including many government buildings. And, at the state level, governments have decreed that certain areas are gun-free zones which, of course, has done exactly dickall to stop any tragedy and may have facilitated a few.

I wouldn't oppose the idea of a teacher having a gun on school grounds, provided they can show they have been trained/have a conceal permit. but just letting any asshole to carry a gun in no.
