Kato Mele was forced to close her coffee shop in Massachusetts because of her 23 y/o daughter's anti-police post that caused DEATH THREATS and HARASSMENT to her business!!

Her shop, White Rose Coffeehouse had to close a week after controversy erupted and said she made the decision so that the harassment and death threats would stop..

It happened when her daughter, Sophie who works as a manager there said on Facebook that they would never host a "Coffee With A Cop" event and went on to call police racists and bullies!!

Coffee With A Cop is a nationwide movement to build trust between police departments and citizens they serve

Sophie wrote "I will gladly hos a 'meet an ex-con' or 'meet the impoverished minority community" event, which has since been deleted. She also said "I'm not going to promote any pro-police event because i'm adamntly anti-police"

She also called the police "bullies" who uphold an "inherently violent oppressive and unjust system" who said that police around the country needs to be reformed for better relations among the public.

Those remarks quickly got word among conservatives and caused a backlash with thousands posting scathing online reviews even if they never went there.

Sophie apologized and her mom even fired her over it but the cries for blood continued against the shop despite Kato posting a heartfelt apology.

She wrote "As a beginning, i invite interested law enforcement to visit the White Rose on Monday, Oct. 16, or anytime, to help us make amends"

But the cops didn't show up, neither did the regulars and with dwindling sales and online abuse not letting up, she closed the shop. She said "I would just say that my daughter had every right to say something as stupid as she said, every American has the right to say something as stupid as she did. I don't agre with what she said, it is not my opinion"

So, what will they do if somebody breaks into their home? Call the cops they detest so much?

I don't agree with everything the cops do as I'm aware a handful of them have their own motives. In general though most cops are their to protect and do a good job at doing their job. In other words this 23 year old is talking out of her arse.

Not nearly as much as people think and mostly in ways that people aren't considering. The courts and prison systems both need an overhaul far more.

unfortunately in today's world parents have less control on the outcome of their children. everything influences a child when they are growing up and social media gave them a outlet to all the worst aspects of the world.

I never liked the old saying "it takes a neighborhood to raise a child" but I see where its kind of true, almost anyone who is a constant part of a kids life for a long period, has a lasting effect on the child
