So apparently, with Gordon, I have a bootleg Hyper Null All, in that his Super Soul Break gives the same ATK + MAG boost with a party blink, and his USB, which does ATK + MAG + MND break as well as Hastega + High Regen. I can run him + Minwu to cover Shellga + Protectga + all the null all buffs.

So pretty cool. I guess he's my support for now until I get better buff coverage.

Which, ironically, considering he's going to be my bootleg Hyper Null All for now, made the decision to take Rikku's Dagger easier, since I probably will be using him as my support for a good while, meaning there's no real reason to need Faris's BSB.

Not sure why I have no problem using Gordon yet have such a problem using Tyro but whatever.

Now the question is how much of this renewal dungeon mythril do I wanna keep using on this FF2 banner in hopes of getting this Minwu Legend Materia

I've thrown 200 at it so far! I kinda really want that legend materia, though. Blinkspam has good synergy with Yuffie.

I'd suggest saving. The next FFX banner isn't that far anymore, and if you want Tidus stuff, that's the place to pull for it.

Chasing a single relic never goes well. You already pulled Minwu USB. Cut your losses and move on.

Well there are a few ways to look at it

Pros:

Minwu is my favorite White Mage in the game, bar none, so having him as strong as possible is a good thing as it basically locks down one of my slots as "set"
Minwu's Legend Materia seems stronger than a lot of them.
FF2 units in general tend to be rarely seen on special banners/etc, so this may be my last chance to get it for a LONG time.
If we get a 3rd Anniversary Banner that's at all close to the JP one, I prefer the Tidus + Yuffie one featured on that to the FFX Tidus banner, especially having grabbed Rikku's dagger from the guaranteed draw
I wouldn't hate getting Gordon's Burst at this point.

Cons:

Would essentially be chasing one item at this point. Though I also don't have Gordon's burst, which I wouldn't mind getting at this point since my Gordon is so stacked.
That ball seems awesome and isn't on the 3rd Anniversary Banner.
Wasn't there a gem draw for a guaranteed Legend Materia in JP like the Burst Banner we got? Using that on Minwu's shield would be much more economical.

Does anyone know if/when that Legend Materia JP thing happened?

I don't think Minwu's LM is worth chasing. I have it and Relm's LM (which is the same as it only with Magic Blink) I don't think it's a very good LM though, I've used Relm a lot but it's very rare that she gives someone magic blink, most of the time I even forget it exists and Relm is my most used White Mage to boot!

There's going to be another FFII event in Japan next week, you should probably wait and see what if it shows up on presumably better banners before pulling again on this one, most of the relics are mediocre to poor. I just pulled for stat stick synergy and lack of dupes (since the second banner is Firion heavy and Emperor sucks.)

Ultimates were easy except for Red Soul

Gottos is probably the most basic Ultimate ever, all he has is attack and haste, apparently he has another move called Imbibe, but since I used Cloud RW I killed him too fast to see it.

Green Dragon is also very basic, he only has two moves and piercing versions of them and his counters. I did the Cid Mission with Firion, Gordon, Leila, Maria and Minwu. The fight took forever through since Firion was the only one doing major damage, I used Maria as a second healer most of the time and Leila's burst and commands are so weak I was better off using Thief's Revenge.

Red Soul was annoying and all because of the stupid high accuracy sleepga the Ogre Mages use. On the first one I can usually counter it with Enkidu but since they use it again before Enkidu can be re-summoned that usually screwed me over. I was using Raines at first but I retreated because the second sleep keep costing me the fight, so I swapped him for Alphinaud and had him summon Valigarmanda to help kill the Ogre Mages ASAP so they don't use sleepga a second time.

I had no trouble at all with Red Soul. I just mage-teamed him to death.

I picked sleep resist accessories just to be safe, but they probably weren't even necessary. Larsa BSB provided additional defense, and if things had gone badly, I would have still had Enkidu for a party-wide Esuna.

The ogres don't have a lot of health, and while Red Soul had decent HP, Maria's BSB just murdered him.

So yeah I guess I'm just gonna hope for that Legend Materia draw to show up. Worst case scenario I can just use Minwu's two legend sphere ones anyway-- they seem decent I guess.

Though I may actually skip the Tidus banner too I dunno. That Yuffie + Tidus banner in the 3rd anniversary seems awesome if they keep it, so maybe I'll just hoard till then.

Bleh I used the 100 gem draw on every Renewal banner so far (as well as other recent banner) and got nothing and I finally get a rainbow it's Larsa's Burst. Maybe I should just stop with them at this point since the next banner aren't even that great. Don't really need better 13/14 synergy at the moment anyway.

Anybody here crazy enough to attempt the Black Knight Cid Mission? I was going to but I'm one wisdom mote short of getting Maria to use *4 White Magic and I don't think I can do it without Protectga.

Man that A+ Red Soul and ogre things are a slog. That AOE sleep is annoying as hell too. Mastered it though. After I master A+ Seymour Omnis (forgot to when the actual event was here), then it's just magicites left for now.

Used the leftover 100 gems I got for the Gem Draw to take a longshot gamble at Cloud USB. Ended up with a Reno SSB, which is actually okay since I do need some magic stat sticks for FF7

Tempted to do an 11 pull on it since there's three relics I'm aiming for (Cloud USB or BSB2, Zack CSB since I have a ton of wind relics), but I need to make sure I have enough mythril for some future events. I know FFX is coming up soon, but how far away are the FF3 (OK USB) and FFTA events?

Retaliate is useless, should've brought Hailstorm instead. Draw Fire only seemed to make a difference against the first wave, and they don't hit too hard anyway. I was expecting Maria to do most of the heavy lifting with her burst, but she just ended up healing the entire fight.

IIRC FFX should be early-mid December (with FFTA right behind it) and OK should be late January-ish.

IMO the Renewal banners are only a half-step above the beginner banners - there's some good stuff but there's so much garbage the odds of getting anything good (let alone the relics you actually want) are still terrible.

The only renewal ones worth drawing on are 11 and 14 and that's because of how few events they get so there's less odds of a bad fossil, something like 7 had a bunch of events so there's so much garbage you have to hope to avoid.

Also you can skip the FFTA event and then save up for the Orlandeau/Alma banners, stuff like Marche's USB/LM and Ramza's BSB2/LM are on that as well.

Is Bahamut bugged or something

Spreadsheet says it's supposed to do 2 hits at 750 a pop. My Bahamut only does 1 hit, and each hit is usually weaker than each of Alexander's single hits to boot. Granted I got a Holy Boost Armor + Weapon so maybe that's not too weird, but only one hit is!

Which Bahamut are you using?

There was a free one we got awhile back that's bugged to only do one hit. That one has a blue background on its icon and it can't be honed or shattered, but you can sell it. It's actually same one that Dr. Mog used in a tutorial battle.

The regular one has like a golden light in the background of its icon. We also got one those for free as well as compensation.

More mythril is always good through. I'm at 200~ish right now thanks to the renewal dungeons I missed before I started playing, still have more to do so I may get enough for another pull or two. Trying to save up for Tidus/FFTA but then you've got an impulse itch to pull, I kinda want to pull on the Bra*Bra banner for one of Kefka's BSBs but I know they aren't worth it.

Also that Final Fantasy Legends 2 is actually coming to the West!

Apparently, there were three Brass de Bravo events, and this is the ancient first one. Which means it has medal conditions even before the + stages. So, best to bring along some fire and lightning.

The relic list is mostly from Japan's most recent Brass de Bravo collab, though. If we get the other two, I wonder what they'll have for relics?

Minwu got a new USB and LM on the new FF2 banner in Japan. His new Legend Materia is much better than the first one (25% dualcast white magic) His USB is weird though, apparently it's offensive focused? On a character with only white magic? Huh.

Considering Holy gets buffed to 4 hits, that's not an issue. Personally, I'd love to nuke stuff to hell and back with Holys.

4-hit Holy still isn't that great through, especially since it's harder to buff mind compared to attack and magic. You'd be better off using Raines BSB for a offensive holy mage anyway.

I got Gladious' legend materia off a Lucky Draw, finally got something good from those banners. Update And Cid 14's burst from the 14 renewal!

I can't beat Magicite....ANY of them.

I have every Chase relic ever except Noctis'....

I was told that Squall BSB2 alone could beat Fenrir and Fujin BSB alone could beat Golem...

If this is true I'd love to know how...

People are exaggerating that a character can solo a Magicite (unless it's Raines vs Mist Dragon) You have focus on buffs and imperils, and utilize what element of the first 6 you're strongest at and then you can sorta "Mega Man" the next magicite since most of the dropped magicites are tailor made to deal with the one that's weak to it's element.

You have Tidus' chase? That's like an instant win against Liquid Flame. I manage to beat him even through all I have is his chain and Bartz USB/Water BSB.

Still truckin' along on the renewal dungeons, finished all of FF4 (trying to complete them in chronological order) and am almost done with 5, just the ultimates in the Gilgamesh event left. Sadly I'm not in the clear until I finish 7-10 (oh why did the make the time limit so short?)

But that fucker has insane D so even my Zack Chain Zidane USB Cloud USB would probably have a tough time cracking that...

Yeah. I just don't get why I can't take out Fenrir. I have Snows Bursr, Umaru's Burst, Lulus Ultra, and of course Squalls Burst and Cloud USB with Hailstorm... I have plenty of ice, the fucker just keeps killing me.... :(

Healing too. His AoE is just damn ridiculous.

Magic Blink makes the fight so much easier, that AoE attack is his only magical move so if you have Firon's BSB or Rosa's SSB or USB just have them keep building meter until they can refresh the magic blink so you don't get slowed.

Do you have Larsa BSB? I use that one in my Fenrir team to prevent the whole Slow-BS.

You could also delay your first Hastega until after his first Savage Withering Wind, around the 10 second mark iirc.

I do have Larsa's (well, Iris, but same thing) Astra BSB. And I do delay my first Hastaga.

Yeah, it's all about stacking buffs. Physical usually 2 buffs is enough (shout and VoF, or something similar), but magic sometimes needs 3. You could get away with 2, depending on your gear. Element boosting gear is just as/potentially more important than your attack/magic stat (unless the difference is 70ish+ between the elemental gear and your top attack/magic option). When I took on Golem, I was confused why Alph and Fujin weren't completely murdering him with their BSBs. All about the buffs.

Still have yet to try any of the other 4 (got Sealion in 35 seconds, Golem in 51). I just get lazy lol. I think I have the means to take down Fenrir, Liquid Flame, and Bismarck, I'm a little leery on Hydra. I have Bartz's USB and Maria's BSB, so it may be doable. Also, Rosa's USB is the MVP of both my successes so far. Magic Blinking Sealion's imperil attack and Golem's interrupt is beyond helpful, to say the least. Hopefully that can make savage withering winds miss, and I need to craft Quick Hit to deal with his physical blink BS.

And I've pulled and spent money on reccomenddd Banners (and a ton on Ultima Blade (which I don't have) and Cids OSB (which I do)

I mean, Ive done nothing but dollar pulls (and stopped 6 months ago or so) have 350 mythril right now, and have beaten every magicite

My guess is you can beat all of them if you put together the right team. TGCs OSB should be able to singlehandidly beat the water magicite if you have any decent buffs
