i've said that paul and harden don't mesh well since the second they got him but this is way too early to judge. remember the lebron heat lost half of their first 20 games together (and didn't win the title)

yeah the louisville one was worse with the bone sticking out and literally snapped in half. i remember reading that the skin was the only thing preventing his foot from falling off. there's stuff like paul george and psycho sid too but this was pretty gruesome

my comment about Houston wasn't due so much to what I was seeing as much as overall skepticism about the roster going into the season. they're going to kill worse teams with their shooting but I'm not as convinced long term.

We went from "maybe we can beat Lebron" to "maybe we can beat John Wall" but there is still a lot to like on Boston. What I heard this morning was actually pretty hopeful for Gordon long term

I wouldn't judge basketball teams by a few quarters of play with a new lineup against a juggernaut champion team! Houston is gonna slay

Honestly I don't think Hayward's injury looked that bad compared to other leg injuries (Livingston, George, Louisville dude). Maybe because it was his ankle and there wasn't any bone protruding. Hope he recovers and comes back the same.

I did see a headline saying a Boston doc thought it might be 3-4 months. the truth is that the regular season doesn't matter, though the playoffs also don't matter. they should treat him with kid gloves and make sure he still has a career. this year never really mattered all that much anyway - it's the next 2-3 where they might be a contender.

this season matters, because it could be the last chance to beat cleveland while lebron is still with them. beating a healthy GSW in 2018 is an impossible proposition as is, but getting to the finals with hayward was definitely possible

okay, I'm just getting home after driving 750 miles today. going through the box scores to see if anything seems nuts.

Phi/Was - Embiid doesn't have like 37 points and 17 rebounds with 6 made 3s so I'm disappointed. Simmons and Fultz look okay numbers-wise and I can't wait to see if either of those guys are legit basketball players or not. they're so flawed right now that it's hard to tell. John Wall missed a lot of shots.

Cha/Det - hey Det is soundly beating a supposedly good team! why has some guy named S. Johnson played 38 minutes and shot 0-12 what in the world

Mia/Orl - Orlando's winning!! it looks like a balanced team attack?! Isaac didn't even play that much - that's a little disappointing! doesn't even look like Miami played bad.

Brooklyn/Indiana is 122-114 with 6 to go and I can't even take that seriously as an NBA game

Mil/Bos - Giannis looks to still be a monster! I need to watch him to see if he's leveled up. Kyrie isn't impressing me in a very limited sample size but I'm probably going to be a little harsh on him for trying to show he's one of the top 10 players in the league so loudly.

NO/Mem - Cousins the god! 5 blocks too! I won't hold my breath as a Kings superfan who's seen this kind of thing way too many times. Mike Conley also playing well - I really hope he breaks out this year after that amazing game against the Spurs last year.
