Like hey, I'm gonna drink this shit that tastes horrible, like Miller Lite, and is still just as fattening as the real thing, but it gives me no kind of a buzz whatsoever. I'm gonna continue all the bad parts of drinking without any of the good.

They serve a purpose. When my dad underwent open heart surgery he couldn't have any alcohol but he's a big beer drinker so he got some non alcoholic Busch to help with the craving

Really? I can't imagine liking the taste of that kind of beer. Craft beers, sure. But these are watered down versions of Bud Light, which is already pretty much carbonated water.

I think the only time I've ever seen non-alcoholic beer was at my friend's house whose mother was recovering from severe alcoholism.

At no point did I connect the two until seeing this topic.

I think they actually recommend that alcoholics not bother get into non-alcoholic beers, because your risk of relapse increases because it could cause a placebo effect.

I once bought a large bottle of Jagermeister for $7 because it was "cinnamon vanilla" flavored after the guy at the counter said it was terrible and they just wanted to get rid of it and I was like "well it can't be that bad."

I use it to disinfect cuts.
