The cop who performed the arrest was terminated and his supervisor who ordered the arrest was demoted.

The same cop was also terminated from another job as a paramedic when he was caught on camera saying he'd take transient patients to the University of Utah hospital where this nurse worked and take the "good" patients somewhere else as retribution.

Prosecutors have also opened up a criminal investigation into the arrest and have asked the FBI to probe for possible civil rights violations.

This same cop was also disciplined in 2013 for sexually harassing a female coworker in "a persistent and severe way."

So it sounds like Officer Payne, the arresting officer, was a pretty shady guy who sexually harasses women and still wanted to "get back" at the nurse for not allowing him to illegally obtain blood.

Oh and that same patient he tried to draw blood from died on Sept. 25th.

It's good this guy was fired and its good his supervisor was demoted, but I certainly hope there are also criminal charges filed. Not sure when it will be determined what criminal charges will be filed.

This is a pretty rare case where police are actually disciplined. Prior to this video being released on social media this police department performed an internal investigation and determined that they had done nothing wrong. Once this video became public a month after the incident the public outrage fueled action to be taken against this officer for his wrong doing.

This doesn't really counter the narrative that police are above the law at all. Like not even close. This cop deserves to be behind bars for this.

I would assume that a cop who lawfully performs his duty will arrest him. Good cops need to take a stand against bad cops.
