especially in the more urban ghetto areas there is a real toxic crab mentality where if someone is doing well or trying to succeed and get out of the ghetto then there will be others who will try to set doubt, discourage and try to pull them back.

why is it so hard to accept for so many people that racism exists and that some people have a much harder time than others?

i was watching a documentary on inner city Philly on Youtube a little while ago and read a comment that I actually thought summed up the situation pretty well. It said "this is what happens when opportunity skips a generation."

and I think that is is, so this whole "black people just need to try harder durrr" shit is so stupid. obviously you are ultimately in charge of your own fate but there is a lot you are not in charge of. i've basically been farting my way through life for 26 years and i have a pretty comfortable lifestyle, whereas someone from a different background would not yield the same results
