So yeah this dude is all about fire, and he periodically becomes immune and becomes engulfed with Flame while teeny tiny fireballs march towards him. My job is to find the Fire Elemental Spires nearby and kill them to get rid of his invulnerability

New level, new dungeon



This dude

Had I not been warned by our tank I would have fell hook line and sinker for his DOOM gimmick. Basically, he has this hits everything attack that afflicts Doom. You can't dodge it, but you CAN cure it, so long as you step on the colored panel. But be quick, the panels that cure you change locations. All the while he attacks and summons BEES. Our tank died sometime after this fight, but fortunately our healer can revive



We've also got these Idol Head enemy things that when they die right on top of a switch they activate it. If not, they revive soon.



Next is Titan-Lite. Or at least I assume how Titan is going to fight. Anyway we have to destroy the thing's Soulstone first before we can damage the main body, but take too long and the soulstone regenerates. To make it worse, the dude sometimes ignores our tank and uses his far reaching AoE attacks on our healer and DPS (like me). Our healer actually DIED here, but thankfully the Guardian died soon after, and he revived later



We've also got these Croc normal enemies that can actually hit behind it. I had to flank it instead to be safe.




I uhh

I'm not exactly sure what's going on against the main boss Adjudicator 100% of the time. I'm mostly stabbing it then flaling around at the various other targets that appear. LIke the Idol Head enemy appeared once, I killed it on top of a switch, and it and its ilk never appeared again. I wasn't sure that was the right answer? Then he starts using Mythril Verges (those Ankh things) where they can do 1 of 2 moves: first they can reveal a path of light, after a short time they'll damage anything in the indicated area. Second they can cause an area around them to darken, and anybody that gets too closed gets sealed with it and has to destroy it. If you don't destroy it however, it selfdestructs and deals damage to everybody anywhere




But victory is with us yet again! HOO-AH!

Also this Bomb Queen Battlehest was insanely fun man. Everybody was diving this way and that way when the bombs came to self destruct while we attacked the Bomb Queen every chance we get

So for our first few trials as a Conjurer we're tasked with killing the exact same 3 enemies I had to as a Lancer, heal a corrupted patch of land to learn about Earth, and heal a corrupted swirl of air to learn about Wind. The last thing had me fight this:



At first I was wondering what the hell the Tainted Air Sprite was doing summoning Air Sprites... and then all 4 it eventually summoned used Aero on me. Luckily the Air teacher rescued my sorry ass that time, though all she did was heal me leaving me to attack the boss myself. Then a Raw Sludge came out of nowhere but I just ignored it and when the Tainted Air Sprite died, the battle ended.

We also meet this stubborn girl:






So long story short, Sylphie is a healer that's learning the conjuring arts... except she refuses to commune with nature. Her mother was a Conjurer who couldn't commune with nature but was damn good with healing, and Sylphie is adamantly following her mother's footsteps despite having a talent that her mother lacked.

Also she knows Raise without learning the theory behind it

THAT won't end well.

So for our next Conjurer's quest is the trial of water, just sprinkle some pure water on a corrupted tree, kill the tainted sprite, then bob's your uncle.

When we went back to report however...



A group of ****ing antelopes went berserk and we headed immediately there to help. Sylphie's there as well but she has her hands full, so it's up to us to heal the Wood Wailers while they kill the young Antelope Stags. And then those ****ing Water Sprites showed up and targeted ME specifically. Fortunately a God's Bow Archer is nearby to help, and soon victory is ours. We have no idea what caused this however, it wasn't an elemental imbalance.



Also something's wrong with her

Well... long story short, because she and her mother didn't/couldn't commune with nature, they were unable to draw the magic to heal people from nature... so instead they used their own lifeforce, resulting in Sylphie's mother's death and is about to kill Sylphie as well

Well that got depressing

Anyway only have 3 Jibanyan medals but it's bed time for me.

So I was wondering why they considered Western La Noscea to be one of the best locations to get Medals

Turns out the ****ing Sahagin keeps invading the gates to the west... but my lancer is underleveled. Which leads to a kind of favorable situation for me since the boss ignores me and goes after everybody else... including the Healer.

The next level wasn't of much interest, just taking Sylphie to 3 tainted elemental locations and have her watch as Zhien purifies it Seems she can hear the voices of the Elementals though.

The last one is from the latest Conjurer quest. Sylphie ran away, and when we're trying to convince her to return she hears the Elemental's voices cry out in pain and THAT happened. Mud Pies, Treants, and tainted Sprites oh my. That's when the elementals came in and helped us. Sylphie is now convinced that her mother's conclusion that using Conjuration hurts nature is wrong, and comes back with us to the Guild, where E-Sumi Yan reveals she has the talent to become a Hearer. The Mud Pies troubles him however, as they're not native to the Twelveswood. Could be sign of outside interference

There are 2 mount speed upgrades you can get

First is via main story (generally when you finish the MSQ for that area, ie when you beat Titan you get a speed upgrade for Upper and Outer La Noscea), second is via hunt seals (only for ARR and HW areas, no second upgrade for SB until next expac).

That said, its only GROUND mount speed, so its only really useful to get for the ARR stuff anyway. Since you can fly in HW zones, there's not much point, because both upgrades only make ground go as fast as flying does and flying is inherently faster anyway since you don't have to go around terrain.

Speaking of, 15 Hovernyan and 3 Komajiro medals get. I think I'm past the halfway point. More importantly Whitelens informed me that in addition to finishing more Main Quests, I need to have a level 15 Marauder to unlock Dragoon

That was changed with Stormblood. You no longer have to level a secondary class to unlock the Job.
