Are those players scrubs or expiring contracts? The picks alone probably justify the fleecing at this stage. I mean $6 million dollars doesn't scream, "Can't miss player" here. How the fuck does this trade even happen?

My goodness are the Hawks aggressively mediocre. Even if they pile on the shots, it's all from the perimeter and easily stopped or blocked. Kane has been fucking invisible.

I recognize the Hamburgler, but he's likely to be the 3rd goalie in Colorado and was probably a salary dump. Everyone else is a prospect, I believe.

Duchene is a good player, but his stats over the last few years are very similar to Turris'. Ottawa paid a king's ransom to get a slightly younger, slightly better player.

Every win is big in this league. Points are incredibly hard to make up. I believe that was their first win against the Wild In 4 years as well.

Kadri is a great player, but Matthews has been dominant in both the offensive and defensive zones. I'm not sure how many Leafs games you've watched this year, but he's easily been the most dominant player on the ice in 90% of his shifts.

He was leading the league in +/- (which isn't the best stat), last week, and of the 6 or 7 goals he's been on the ice against for, 1 was an empty netter and a few came within seconds of him coming off the bench. It becomes even more impressive when you realize just how many goals Toronto gives up.

Watched maybe 1.5 Leafs games this year. Maybe he's improved a lot but last year he struck me as a guy with a ton of offensive potential but very streaky and far from a complete player. I dunno. The Leafs are weird. They don't actually have that many guys who would be Top 6/4 on many other teams. Probably the Babcock Effect.

Oh and I watched about 2/3 of Lightning/Sharks last night and holy shit, that Namestikov/Stamkos/Kucherov line is something. If Stamkos can stay healthy, they'll be a force...

The longest shootout winning streak the NHL has had came to an end tonight, when the Blue Jackets beat the Red Wings. Wings had last lost the shootout in February of 2016, with 12 straight shootout wins.

It feels real sad that they ended the playoff streak, and in turn claimed that streak. I'd rather have a playoff team, thank you.
