Parise suffered a "setback" during practice. The setback happened two years ago. The Wild better do something to wipe that $7.5m cap hit off the books. Parise's back is totally fucked, and they are paying a heavy price for it.

I haven't watched any Washington games up to this point, so I didn't realize how much worse their defence was compared to last year.

Devils come back from down 4-2 in the 3rd to beat the Senators in overtime. 6-1. My God.

Wait, the Devils won that? It was still 4-2 when I stopped watching.

Also, goal scoring looks to be pretty high so far this year. It's usually a little higher at the start, but... there's an expansion team, which usually results in a league-wide increase in scoring, so we'll see if it continues.

Blackhawks Goaltending is looking good so far. Forsberg really deserves better than two OT losses.

Devils lost last night to fall to 6-2, now inexplicably have a week until their next game (it's not their bye).

Red Wings finally signed Athanasiou to a contract, and had to make two trades to fit him in (why is this team up against the cap ughhh)

Ryan Sproul (D) went to the Rangers in exchange for Matt Puempel (F)
and
Riley Sheahan (F) & a 5th round pick went to the Penguins in exchange for Scott Wilson (F) & a 3rd round pick

No major players moved here. Sheahan might be most notable, partly known because he didn't score a goal until game 82 last year but can be a 20 goal scorer if he doesn't have the world's worst luck and a bad team around him.

We must have been watching a different feed because it was clearly at the level of the crossbar when contact was made.

They showed an angle from the blue line on TSN that I thought was pretty good at making it clear that it was a good goal.

That shove on Komarov at the end could have been called differently but it was so blatant that it's hard not to call it there.
