Mostly just to let you guys know that leaving PotD is probably the best decision I've made in a while. I used to spend most of my online time on here, mostly getting mad at all the garbage you people post, but since I left I've been cultivating a lot more meaningful connections online (that were always there, I guess, but I neglected because of this place). I'm also in the best creative place I've probably ever been; I'm making a ton of progress on two short stories and a novel I'm working on (which again, fell by the wayside because I wasted so much time on here).

I spent a lot of time here (shoot, about nine years this August) and left in a huff, but in a weird sort of way, you guys actually helped me to realize I'm a much more valuable, smart person than I felt like when I spent a lot of time here. Which is to say, coming here made me hate myself, but leaving made me realize that I actually have a lot to offer that will never, ever come through on here.

Anyway, that's about it. It's Kana by the way. I just realized that might not be obvious.

There's some decent folks here and I hope you all find a way to get out of here too. There's just something inherently stifling about a place like this, or at least there was for me. I'm probably not the only one.

So yeah. In a weird way, thanks. Hope you all are doing well.

good for you. me though I come here for entertainment, so this place doesn't really have a negative effect on me. every once in awhile someone will rub me the wrong way but I don't stay mad long.

I hear that. For me though, the fact that I have trolls making alt accounts specifically to harass me kind of sucked out any entertainment value there might've been. When you have people who have just this awful, grotesque image of you and perpetuate it constantly, it starts to get to your head even if you know it's not based in reality. Most people don't experience this though so I don't expect most folks to really get it, but that's how it is.

It really does bother me that people act so shitty here (and not just this board). I just don't get why so many like to troll, hound, and antagonize. But I'm a creature of habit so I keep coming back (that and there are plenty of people who are nice and chill).

I don't really think that's what I said though? My life isn't really any better or worse than it was only a month ago, I think, but there are definitely much better ways to utilize your downtime than this, or at least there was for me. If you're devoting your downtime to things that are personally fulfilling, then yeah I don't really see how I could be worse off, objectively. But I know you're a pretty lonely, bitter person yourself so I get the place you're coming from. Hope you're able to sort that out.

Anyway, this'll be my last post. What I said up there about the grotesque image of myself -- this is pretty much what I'm talking about. Y'all are determined to convince yourselves (and by extension, me) that I'm a terrible, conniving person and I just know that I'm not, so I'm gonna keep that momentum going.
