I never thought about it before, but it's crazy that it took four decades for "the big guy" to become one of Batman's adversaries. If you look at James Bond, they didn't waste much time in establishing Oddjob as one of the more famous foes.
I'm sure there were countless muscular henchman who appeared as one-shots, but did Batman have a recurring muscular foe before Batman came on the scene in the 1990s? ... Copied to Clipboard!

Actually, now that I think about it, I've seen Goldfinger half a dozen times and I've never noticed before that they actually did want Oddjob to seem shorter. Most of the pictures of him have him in an awkward stance with his legs bent so that he's giving up several inches in height.
It's still nowhere near as pronounced as in the video game though. ... Copied to Clipboard!
