I don't support Trump, but this guy was just vomiting rhetoric.
First of all protesting the nation anthem isn't protesting the current administration, it's protesting the country itself. It's the kind of thing people do when they want to get rid of democracy in favor of socialism, or capitalism in favor of communism. Trump and his administration didn't write "The Star Spangled Banner" nor did they appoint it the national anthem in the 30s. It has nothing to do with police brutality or racism. Secondly this white privilege nonsense is total bull shit. I'm white. Nobody's ever given me a god damn thing. I make $1236 a month and my cost of living (before groceries) is $1263 a month, and welfare told me I make too much money for any kind of support. I know what it's like to go weeks on end without electricity because my parents couldn't afford to pay the bill. I know what it's like to only have something to eat because it was donated by the church. I'm paying $500 a month for a fifteen year old Mercury Sable that leaks power steering fluid (costs $1200 to fix) and living off ramen and coffee. White Privilege is a myth. And finally, this is a business. Players have the right to protest, even as they are making millions of dollars to play a game that they could not do in a lot of other countries. Owners also have the right to release a player if they feel they have displayed unsportsmanlike conduct. I personally don't have to support any player that I don't agree with. As such I don't have to support a player who chooses to protest the capitalistic democracy I choose to live in. I like being able to have private property, the option to start my own business, and all things considered I'd rather deal with Democracy at it's works than the dictatorships that rise from Socialism and Communism. --- John Watson: "Well it isn't obvious to me."
