I dont remember what grade, but I do remember doing it in grade 5 and 6 for sure.
I am positive i had done it as early as grade 2 or 3

Though I lived like 5 or 10 minutes away from my school while walking.

Grade 5 was a longer walk, cause the schooling in my town did some weird moving around those years, and it was like a 30-40 minute walk. Almost beat the bus a few times once it warmed up.

Never in elementary school, no. But in high school I walked to school instead of taking the bust until I could drive. I lived about 2 miles from the school but it was in a very large school district because it contained a bunch of farms. For some asinine reason the bus would pick us up first, then swing out into the countryside to get everybody else, making it a 45 minute bus ride. Fuck that.

I walked from K-7, then we moved and the schools were farther away. In 7th grade it was about 30 minutes away, but I kinda liked the walk. My first few years of school I walked with my older sister and it was only a 5 minute walk, so no problems there.

I took the school bus like 3 times for field trips my entire school life. I don't really know what it's like to ride the bus.

The earliest I can remember walking to and from school for sure was 2nd grade and I walked up until 5th grade. 6th and 7th grade were in a different school that wasn't within walking distance.

I walked to and from school in grades 3 and 4. It was 10 or 15 minutes. I walked home sometimes in my junior and senior years. That one was 40 minutes.

Yep, all the time. I walked most of the time starting from kindergarten. One year my school was far enough that I had to bus, but even later on I just rode my bike until old enough to drive.

This applied to me too. Both in primary and secondary school. I actually still live the same distance from the school now. I always walked to school. Sometimes with my siblings other times on my own.

School was like 3 miles away from home and I had to travel on a busy highway to get home, so no. I actually did it twice in middle school though.

Elementary school 3 blocks away and junior high a mile away, yes. Had to ride a bus to high school until I got a license and a car.

No, lived way too far away. In theory, I could have done it while in high school -- since it was closer and I was older -- but that would have been a hike as well. iirc, it was about 5 miles so it would have probably taken over an hour counting getting through traffic.

A couple times yeah. It pretty much got linger with every level of schooling though.

Elementary school was about 15 minutes away, so that was an easy one.

Middle School was about 30, so whenever I had something to do after school I would just walk back.

Thanks to sports I usually had rides back up until I could drive myself during highschool but I ended up walking back 2 or 3 times as a freshman. It was about an hour so I tried to avoid that one.

K-6 I walked to and from, unless my mom didn't have to work. It was about a 15 minute walk. In Jr. High I rode the bus, and in high school I walked for the first couple months and drove the rest.
