Yup, hitting Cuba first really helpes. I knew the Keys were screwed but I was very doubtful we'e be in terrible trouble here in Miami.

not a resident but having family in Naples I was terrified for them when I saw the storm heading right for them. my aunt lives just minutes from the airport that recorded the 142 mph gust

Many people tried to evacuate, and actually died from evacuating and being stuck in traffic too long, but the hurricane hardly did anything, surprisingly, because it was a cat 5. ...
