Always a solid choice for ingame, and it's got a cool design. How about Ampharos? It's a bit dopey lookin' and kinda slow for an Electric type, but he'll do what you need him to do. I always end up using him. Murkrow/Misdreavus/Larvitar are solid choices if you're at least willing to put up with the two Safari Zone challenges.
