Hurricane Harvey will be a big problem for people in the Galveston area, but College Station is going bonkers. Stores are running out of water and stuff, but we're not really expecting that much to happen. just some heavy rains and strong winds.

I was under the impression that the possible flooding is the main threat with Harvey. Was your area hit with the flooding last year?

Yeah, nobody wants to get near invisible pink, possibly imaginary, rabbits named Harvey.

Wonder what we'll see of it all the way over here. I do remember getting some very intense wind from a hurricane when I was younger.

I'm always curious about this, like what is milk and bread going to actually accomplish if you are stuck inside your house?

i think it's more like, more people are going shopping than usual, and they hit the stores all at once and the store doesn't have time to restock it fast enough since so many more people are shopping than typically would be

You won't have to go out for milk or bread while the storm is going on

Probably better to prepare for it and have it not happen than have it happen and not being prepared for it

My bro is the kind of guy who when I told him it was a Category 3, responds with "...it's only a 3? >:/"

Like lol I guess I'm just a hurricane pussy, I don't find potential destruction to be particularly enjoyable but better safe than sorry. Cause I told him yeah it's only three but that doesn't mean it won't touch down worse. And here we are (now cat 4), where a lot of the gas and water is already sold out in east Houston, still waiting for it to even hit when they said it would by yesterday evening, but you still gotta be prepared man... Exciting I suppose, but I am not excited by the threat of flooding. Our house is already on it's last leg, old thing that needs serious structural work already, that's mainly why I am concerned.

oh shit here come dat rain again... still waiting though

I don't know about you, but severe water damage to my home is pretty apocalyptic to me.
