I'm not seeing much inaccuracy there.

This came up a lot during the DV/Orlandeau debate. The pro-Orlandeau crowd kept pointing out that Altema ranks him higher than DV, so he's better. The responses were always telling people not to trust Altema and to compare their actual kits, and that DV is better if you actually look at what they can do. I tend to agree with those people. There is no world where Orlandeau is better than DV, since they're the same unit, one just has versatility and the other doesn't.

Orlandeau: Higher overall damage. Can debuff.

DV: Lower damage, when DE+2-bonuses are not in effect, but wider utility.

Either way they are meant to work together.

I can certainly see why you would think that since I'm probably the most outspoken person against him, but this was other people on the FFBE board that were jumping in, not me this time. I actually trusted the Altema ratings and figured they were something more official until I started seeing pushback against them. Once I dug a little deeper on the lists I came to the conclusion that I agree with the people who don't trust Altema over the ones that do, because their thought processes align closer to my own when it comes to how good a unit is overall.

Check out this topic if you want to see some discussion about 2Bs overall use compared to the other high end chainers, and some of why Altema isn't very accurate. Best example I could find with both included. If people want to go all in for 2B, that's fine, and they can certainly do that. I personally don't see her as having any use to me given what I already have.

The best way to describe Altema is as a rough estimation using infinite optimized resources.

The hair splitting comes when you hit the 94-95+ rank(Unless that changed now) since not all deserve that high of a ranking with their respective kits at that point. (Like the Orlandeau vs DV, DV should be ranked higher in a vacuum with his wider kit. But at the same time weighing the "are we really using x ability/magic now when better ones are available elsewhere".

(Personally I was hoping they focused more on bumping up those for DV along Verita buff and his chainer.)

I find the DV vs. Orlandeau debate to be very interesting, since they're so similar. Orlandeau gets higher base atk (around 30 iirc), but DV has higher survivability with the defensive stats, in addition to his more versatile kit. Both have a preferred element but can use anything you have available. It seems to really come down to what type of battle you're in (as it almost always does in the end). Do you want faster damage, or less damage and more survivability/versatility. I don't know of any other unit pairing that's so close to each other at this time. Maybe this will pop up with Roy and Ramza once Roy is released, don't know much about him yet.

I did list late in the last topic how Lunera, Ramza and Roy rolled.

Lunera got better hp/mp-regen, but 10% less stats than Ramza, while Roy got higher(110%), but needed 4 turns to warm up since he adds new effects per turn on top of breaks. (If you didn't use his LB for instant singing.)

Last song of his can be repeated. (Roy also require more micromanagement for swapping to the next song every 2 Turns.)
