When we focus on party identification
instead of state electoral context in views about
who best should run the Democratic Party we see a few significant changes worth
noting. First, for African Americans who identify as Independent Bernie Sanders
emerges as the more popular candidate to lead the Democratic Party over Barack
Obama by a small difference of five percentage points, while Obama is strongly
preferred by African Americans who identify as Democrats. Second, we find that
support for Hillary Clinton to lead the party is highest among Asian Americans who
identify as Republican (36%)
, however, the small number of Asian American
Republicans in the sample overall (17) limits the conclusions we can draw from this
finding.

The next closest groups are African American Republicans and Latinx Democrats (14% each)

this isn't really pertinent to anything, I just though it was really kinda funny (it also makes sense, all those places in California where Clinton won but a Republican won the congressional district are probably full of conflicted, sorta conservative vietnamese folks)

I don't have data to back it up, but Asian family/friends all supported Clinton in california. Even among republican family members I have. They viewed Bernie as just giving away everything and Trump as a blowhard. Only Bernie supporters I know amongst asians were the sjw type and the ones who don't care about politics.

well, this is millenials specifically so that changes things a bit, but her support among young asian republicans is actually higher than bernies among young asian democrats so I'd say there's something to this idea

Sounds like a flawed study if in reading it correctly. They asked 17 Republican Asian Americans who should lead the Democratic party? Sample size is incredibly low, and the average voter probably couldn't name more than 5 democrats who are qualified to lead the party. I mean, they're still talking about Obama who's completely out of the picture now out of his own volition.

Also are the opinions of "people who identify as Republican" even relevant in this discussion? Get some people who claim to be swing voters or something.

I'm a white Republican, and I think Hillary Clinton should lead the Democratic Party. Along with Elizabeth Warren, Debbie Shultz, and Nanci Pelosi.

That combination is what lead to a majority Republican representation in government. So, keep it up.

Damn. Is there anything the Democrats could do for you to ever actually consider switching parties?

Because the main people that are pushing SJW propaganda nonsense are all happen to be female Democrats.

Lesser government involvement in people's lives. More support for the private sector. Stop demonizing white people. Stop attacking the First and Second Amendments.

But that is opposite of the core principles of today's Democratic Party. So, I doubt I'll ever support the Democratic Party.
