I care if they're a gang known for child prostitution.
It just means they get less pity.
This isn't "hey, my village got taken over by hostiles and I have to join their ever growing army or else my family gets killed". This is actively joining a fucking gang known for being some of the worst people on the planet. You wouldn't willingly join the KKK or the Arayan Brotherhood or a 1% gang.
Don't expect to be treated like a civilian when you join a group that actively goes against civilization

I know cops. They're cheering not because he's giving them free reign to rough people up, but because they have a president that isn't out to make them the bad guys anymore. You gotta realize that law enforcement has gotten significantly more difficult in the last decade because EVERY action now comes with the threat of being publicly shamed, unceremoniously fired, or worse. The number of reports of claims like racism have skyrocketed. The default response to being approached by a cop in some places is now "I'm just going to report you for racism and see if I can get you fired."

Look, at the end of the day I get what most of the non-educated people are worried about: it means a cop can go up to any Latino man and just go "he's in MS-13, let's blow his brains out". And of course, that's your opinion you can share.
But traditionally they don't that. Why? Because randomly shooting people isn't intelligent.
Neither do they decide to just randomly kill actual gang members for the lulz.
Because that would be counter productive. Trying to get a snitch > shooting someone in the face.

But again, I'm basing this off of my own research and not what most of the people in this topic think: that cops now have permission (and are encouraged) to randomly shoot Latino people because they might be in a gang.

If a police officer purposefully chooses to take precautions with some suspects to ensure their safety but chooses not to take the same officer with another suspect for reasons related to them thinking ill of them rather than reasons related to their own safety, then that is obviously police brutality, yes.

Also I'm fairly sure if a "child trafficking gangmember" ever got an injury to the forehead because the police didn't take this precaution, they would be able to sue the fuck out of that, so you'r'e basically arguing for enriching child traffickers with tax money for the sake making them slightly more likely to sustain probably minor head injuries during arrest.
