"I'm a moderate/libertarian/left-leaning centrist", only worse, since at least those phrases imply some kind of ownership of your (purposely uncontroversial-sounding) views, whereas this one is just trying to put the blame on someone else.

Fox News doesn't have an agenda, they are always looking out for you. Hannity has been very consistent. He was FOR the Patriot act/ wire tapping Americans during the Bush years and AGAINST Wire tapping during the Obama years!

2) Given that few people describe themselves as a left-leaning centrist, it's a silly attempt at a dig at me.

3) Libertarians have highly controversial ideas. Half of my controversial ideas are libertarian in nature, such as the right for businesses to discriminate on ANY grounds because some other business will start to service those neglected markets (and literally the ONLY time that doesn't happen is when the government intervenes, as with Jim Crow)

The media has a left wing/government mouthpiece p.o.v. Period. I can't think of the last time I saw actual journalism or investigative reporting from the msm. Its either regurgitation of the government line when a Democrat is in office or has a left spin when a Republican is in office.

It's literally happening all the time but okay. You realize the news doesn't just come out of thin air, right? It may seem like it, with how accessible it is now with 24/7 networks and the internet, but there was some journalist or reporter involved in that news hitting.

I also dislike the notion that it's better to cater to people who are wrong than to actually support your stance on a subject.

An argument can also be made that most "liberals" and "conservatives" are just idiots who can't think for themselves, so they merely parrot back things they've heard shouted by other, louder voices who have far more conviction.

Literally where the compass polls put me. On the left-right spectrum, I'm slightly left of the middle. Authoritarian-libertarian, moderately libertarian (halfway down).

Political compass. And most "socially liberal" libertarians don't actually embody libertarian ideas, since they support laws regulating a business's choice of service instead of free trade.

Given that the vast majority of the population doesn't have a strong, well-informed opinion on any given subject, they're moderate by nature. The more uninformed ones with strong opinions tend to tout the extremes of either side.
