Yes that is 7 cents. We don't carry coins to give out as change when we deliver. Store gives us $15 to carry around every day to use as change, then any cash tips adds onto it.

Like not only did this bitch stiff me, she demanded her 7 cents back and yelled at me (A LOT) when I told her we don't carry coins. My boss told her she could come to the store and he'd give her the change. Her lazy ass never showed, surprise surprise.

And believe it or not, she's not the first person to stiff me and try to get coin change off me. Some people man.

One time at a drive thru my change was two cents and the guy closed the window and I waited for my two cents. I didn't want or need it, but it was more the principle of the thing. If he had been like "I have no more pennies" I'd be like eh alright it's cool, but the fact that he just wasn't going to give it to me annoyed me.

I'd never yell at anybody or treat them like shit because of it though.

No your not, the majority of deliveries are from online transactions anyway, it's not a like a restaurant.

You are EXPECTED to tip the delivery driver, and you 100% should, but it is not something that you MUST do. Does it make you a dick if you don't? Yes. But it is possible that they need that money more than you do.

I'm not paying for a $1000 package and then tipping the guy who already gets paid to deliver the package. If the company isn't paying him enough then he shouldn't have signed on for that job.

While I wouldn't mind much to not get my 7cent, I would still be annoyed by the fact that you don't bring changes or don't do round numbers on your prices.

Because 99% of people, outside of a certain group, are decent and tip their driver. No one is being overcharged. If they want to pay in exact change, that's fine, but you can't expect me to be carrying around coins. Literally no delivery service ever anywhere does that.

Why are you cool with paying more than you agreed to? It maybe "only seven cents" but you keep doing that with everyone and it'll soon add up. I pay what is advertised and not a penny more. I'm not a charity.

If I order pizzas and it comes out to like $19.93, I'm paying $25 and including it as part of the tip. At the same time though, that's bad business by your managers. If someone wants to tip you a flat $5, they should have that option available and receive change. Or if they are dicks and want to not tip, they should be given the option and receive exact change.

If you don't carry change and they say they are paying with cash, they should be made aware of the exact change policy ahead of time.

But the answer is no. Because at that point, not only are you stiffing me, you want me to pay for part of your bill, since that would come out of my own pocket. That's only happened to me once, and I had to take the food back to the store.

Let me ask you this. If you went to a restaurant, would you expect the waiter to pay for part of your bill because you can't live within your means? No of course not because that's just plain stupid. Not only is that waiter not getting a tip, he would actually be losing money. It's the same exact thing with a delivery driver.

It all goes back to if you can't afford to tip (or pay your entire bill in this case) you can't afford to go out and eat.

Nobody expects you to pay part of the bill. They just expect someone who works with cash to have change on hand.

The problem here is that you are a delivery boy who thinks the world owes you.

If that customer wanted to not pay an extra 7 cents then they should have provided exact change. It still wouldn't hurt for the delivery person to have some type of change on them for nitpickers like her.

I'm a generous tipper. I usually do at least 25% unless they're awful but just the principle of you not carrying change for me bc you expect a tip in the first place would make me not wanna tip you

While you should be tipped, the way that's done is up to the customer. The policy of not having change is ridiculous. I have gotten change back while having the tip on standby. That's never been an issue. Quite honestly, if a delivery person told me that they didn't have the change, I would believe they were keeping the money for themselves, and I certainly would not tip someone who I thought was ripping me off.

She had every right to call and complain. Suggesting that she should drive down to get her change is ridiculous. Your boss is an idiot.
