A little over 100 days away. I may be more excited than them. Actually I definitely am. One downer is I couldn't get a Be Our Guest dinner reservation, was lucky just to get a breakfast reservation on the calendar.

They def. Are.

All the story rides are doable. Meeting the princesses doable. The shows doable.

The big fun stuff though we are totally going to miss. But that's ok. This is just their first trip to disney it'll make the next one even more exciting.

Kai is super pumped to meet Chewbacca and Darth Vader. However you know she's gunna be scared as shit when we actually get to them

I dont remember the exact number of days, but something like 60, 30, a week, and a day out are when dinner reservations are canceled at WDW. So by calling as soon as the reservation number opens for calls on those days can sometimes snag a table. Not being able to get a BOG dinner was a big regret of mine, so I'd advise you try it out.

Always call, don't rely on the website. The people on the phone have access to a bigger inventory.

Having just been to the parks, 3 and 5 does seem a bit young :/

Not just in terms of not being able to do everything (though that seems important), but in terms of being able to spend the entire day in the park before they kids run out of gas. It seems a shame to not spend every possible minute in the parks, but it certainly felt like families would be leaving the parks as soon as early to mid afternoon because their kids had enough for the day.

That was a concern FD. However we could leave the park at 2, go to hotel, nap, go back at 5 and have dinner and the evening to enjoy the park. Yay free buses.

We are doing 4 days of parks. 2 magic kingdom, 1 epcot, 1 Hollywood studios. Skipping animal kingdom. With one day in the middle of just hotel swim relax day.

Sure it sounds good on paper but we'll see how it goes.

Are you staying at a hotel on Disney Property or off site? If you are staying on site, the best piece of advice i have is:

- ARRIVE EARLY and go back to the hotel around 1:00 or 2:00 for a mid-day nap.Getting there before opening is the most critical key to enjoying rides and/or meeting characters before lines get unbearably long. The more you wait in line, the more miserable everyone gets - and this is amplified with children.

- The midday nap is essential for everyone to recharge, especially if you want to arrive early to beat the lines and stay late to see the fireworks show. An hour or two in a cool, dark room does wonders for your energy and patience levels. The middle of the day (2-6 PM) is the hottest and busiest part of the day anyways, so you aren't missing much. Even if returning to your hotel is not feasible, go find a dark, air conditioned show like the Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress or Ellen's Energy Adventure where you can sit and let the girls nap for a bit. Take in two shows in a row if needed.

- Pack snacks and refillable bottles for water. It will save you tons of money. You can refill your bottles at the drinking fountains, but any quick service restaurant will also give you free cups of water that you can dump in your bottle.

- There is another excellent Princess Dinner at Akershus in Norway at Epcot. They have great, unique food and it's a great way to meet several more princesses.

- Use your Fastpasses! You can book a few rides/shows/ character meets ahead of time to skip the line save a ton of time.

Let me know if you have any more touring questions. I hope you have a great time!

Skipping animal kingdom.

idk about this.

Animal kingdom has a lion king play and a finding nemo musical which are both really cool and fairly kid friendly. (Maybe a touch on the loud side? But the content is great). It also wound up being the favorite park of both my wife and myself. Although part of the reason we loved it was the Avatar section and the 3D avatar ride which they would not be able to ride or appreciate. But there are a lot of animal walking trails which are basically mini-zoos scattered around and I would say it would be a better park for kids.

if you had to skip one I might even recommend it be Hollywood Studios, but then you miss the meet and greet with chewbacca (he hugged me!) so that sounds like a no. But there seemed to be a lot at Hollywood that isn't as kid friendly. Like the Tower of Terror and the aerosmith rollercoaster to name a couple.

We spent 1 day at each park and I couldn't imagine skipping any of them tbh. Magic Kingdom was hard to do in 1 day, but we did it on a wednesday to get the midweek crowd instead of the weekend crowd and barely got it done. But that was with plotting in all the major attractions that you would be skipping like space mountain, splash mountain and thunder mountain. If you are already forced to forego a lot of those then you can focus on the slow moving kid friendly rides, like the little mermaid, peter pan and small world.

This is also a quality question. If you are staying at a Disney Resort then you can plan your days to line up with the extra "Magic Hours" and get into the parks a couple hours before general admission. You can really get a lot done in the hours before everyone else is allowed in.

My wife and I did not have this benefit so we had to pick the days we did specific parks to AVOID the parks with magic hours so we would not be entering a park at "opening" that has already been half full for a couple hours.

Thanks for the tips cyko. The mid day naps are totally going to happen.

We are on resort, just made everything easier. Already have lunch reservation at akershus the day we do epcot.

We figured epcot and Hollywood would end up being half day excursions with our 2 magic kingdom days being full days of carrying children around.

As for animal kingdom, skipping it has its pros and cons but there is a chance that on our "off day" we pick up an extra ticket and head over.

I'm still not sure there are 2 full days worth of content at magic kingdom if you are (A) age gated from some of the bigger attractions and (B) have access to magic hours so you can see/do a lot before general admission is allowed in.

Then again your children may want to do the same favorite attraction numerous times, so this could account for that.

Avoiding the extra magic hours days and enjoying the extra sleep actually may be more advisable, even staying on site. Those hours really do bait the crowds.

Pro Tip: If you can in any way justify a wheelchair, get a wheelchair.
Source of tip: My brother's incapacitated Father-in-law, who at the time refused to accept he needed a wheelchair, and thus walked as much as possible.

Then they got a wheelchair for him and got to skip lines.

Most queues are accessible now.

Unsure if WDW has adopted Disneyland policy, but wheelchairs and other disabilities are no longer front of the line passes here.

I saw many people in wheel chairs and motorized wheel chairs(?) going through the lines like regular people. So that seems like it wouldn't work anyways. Not that you should scam disney even if it would work.

But I think Universal Studios Orlando still had special access for people in wheel chairs.

Oh yeah, strollers for both, back and forth between hotel and park. At least one night for fireworks. They will love every second of it and we'll have the photos for when they are older and don't remember.
