I give Melee another year at EVO but I feel its time is finally up

Huh? Hasn't it typically gotten the highest view count of any game and tons of entrants? Admittedly, it was on Saturday this year, which caught me off-guard. I wouldn't have realized they were doing Melee top 8 late on Saturday night if it hadn't been mentioned on the Marvel stream, so I imagine viewership will be a little lower because of that.

SSBM is very popular. SSBM had 120000 viewer this year during finals and I think it normally got around 200000 in finals on Sunday last year. MvC3 currently has around 56000 but it should go up for finals.

as for Melee's numbers, I've never been able to tell if it's a true Melee bump of if it's just a coincidence. SF always runs at like 12, 1am EST and people are going to bed. ESPN is showing the finals too which cuts Twitch numbers down. Melee is certainly popular and I wouldn't be surprised if it is indeed the biggest Evo game, but I'm not sure. if it was able to pull big numbers at 1am this year I'd give it the benefit of the doubt. I had to go to bed before winners finals.

At the same time, I'd say that this year's EVO kind of vindicates the reasoning from Combofiend about having two characters in Infinite because a third character was primarily just used as an assist because almost every team had Doom assist.

Kind of looking forward to not seeing Missiles in MVC:I.

I think the gameplay in Infinite looks like it has a lot of potential to be fun

But man those graphics are something out of the late 90s and it has a hud some dude made on MUGEN. Lots of work needs to be done visually I think. Just update Marvel 3's style it really looked pretty nice.

RyanLV has been doing a lot of work throughout the last year and he was actually the favorite to win since he had really good reuslts so it's cool to see a Chun do well

Yeah, I'm really hoping to have a ton of fun with Infinite because there hasn't been a fighting game in forever that I could really get into. The game has issues, but I will never understand anyone who says any of the issues with Infinite are the gameplay. Because the gameplay looks crisp and fun.

I don't like the button layout for Infinite. Wish they'd kept the Marvel 3 buttons. Also meter gain seemed slow in the demo but that may just be the demo.

While DBFZ may over take it, Marvel Infinite will likely have its strong fanbase despite the haters

I used to play both and they can be pretty stressful with all the mechanics and crazy gimmicks characters have. But it actually has pretty fun you just have to have godly defense for some of this shit

Doesnt help I usually play basic shoto characters

Guilty Gears had Sunday the last 2-3 years while BB, this will likely the last time Blazblue will be on stage so I think it's fair to let have its chance, pretty clear GGs just gonna keep outclassing BB in popularity

Too many systems in these anime games. Also I don't think the visual aesthetic is something I could take for more than a few hours once a year. Don't know how to describe it, too... operatic? Baroque?

Are you interested in DBFZ? Made by Arcsys but gameplay mechanics are more similar to Marvel 3
