Did you know that a bullet would fall back to the ground if you fire it in the sky?

13 y/o Noah Inman from Indiana has died just one week after a BULLET fell on his HEAD when he was playing basketball after someone had fired a bullet into the sky during pre-July 4th celebrations!!

He was playing basketball on July 1st when he suddenly fell to the ground..witnesses called an ambulance thinking he suffered a seizure but hospital workers discovered he had been hit by a falling bullet.

It is illegal to discharge a weapon within Hammond city limits as the case remains under investigation..

The police said "Unfortunately, this is a common action by many people who own guns in our city and they need to know this action has consequences and will be dealt with severely.

The family updated their GoFundMe page that set up donations to fund the hospital treatment and funeral expenses as they thanked the public for their wishes and prayers

It has since raised over $21,000...

Did you know that a bullet would fall back to the ground if you fire it in the sky?..

Yeah, there's this thing called gravity. Magically it works on bullets too.

I thought they burned up when they reentered the atmosphere like shooting stars.

But a bullet and a feather should fall at the same pace.

In the completely ideal situation that someone fires directly upwards. Any tilted angle however and the bullet will maintain its spin and be lethal.

If you fire directly upwards then the bullet loses its spin as it reaches its trajectory apex since net velocity = 0 (again, ideal conditions). Without the spin the bullet doesn't cut through as easily - basically, pencil diving vs parachuting.

If there's a tilt, there's a horizontal velocity that remains effectively constant, maintaining the spin of the bullet.
