I'm 30 dude. Anyway I brought it back to redbox. It was alright.

It feels so sterile and generic (quirky annoying character designs aside) tbh

The big argument I see as to why people leave TF2 is that they already had 8000 hours in TF2 and it got stale obviously

But I see little new or interesting that this game brings to the table, and no memorable maps

Overwatch is such a bad game. I prefer games from the first person perspective where you shoot guns and other kinds of stuff that are real time and have multiplayer.

yea i agree, it's an amusing game but IMO it's pretty much everything I dislike about modern gaming.

unless you are interested in playing competitively with a tight group of friends, you're just stuck playing quickmatches over and over again, and rolling the dice that you teamed up with a bunch of players who are good at the game and will naturally work together.

otherwise the game is just really spammy (with lots of "kill everyone" moves), matches are designed to filter people in and out real quick with no real sense of community or continuity, and there's no real progress.

any kind of reward in Overwatch is locked behind loot crates, which i think are one of the worst trends ever in video games and are nothing more than virtual gambling for kids.

even thematically the game makes no fucking sense unless you are the kind of guy who is going to sit around and read supplementary comics and fanfictions and shit. i agree with the sterile comment because the maps dont really have any personality and there just isnt a sense of cohesion with the characters (they dont really seem to fit the way the cast of TF2 fits together, for example).

basically it's a well made game in every aspect but i dont find it very compelling at all and after a match or two every once in a while i want to move onto a different game

I don't get it either tbh. I had fun with it for a bit but it quickly grew stale. Only a couple game types, no story mode or co-op missions, etc. Yeah, they throw in a new character every now and again but that hardly revolutionizes the game.

Almost all of the characters have interactions and personal history with one another though. The problem is that the Overwatch team is taking a lot of time to flesh them all out. They DO however put in a lot of effort on maps and character development and that is commendable on their part.

yea but it's not something you'd ever understand from playing the game. you have to go read online comics and shit if you want to understand, otherwise it's just a bunch of nonsense characters thrown together

The maps and setting are not memorable at all. Few characters leave any lasting impression aside from a couple with noticeable relationships (76/Reaper or Genji/Hanzo)You can't have any custom content at all. It does almost nothing that hasn't been done before

The game literally has a T rating. They're not allowed to get away with nearly as much kind of dialogue that say TF2 can

In theory, they don't. But then they do.

The biggest problem is they attract a certain type of person who really just likes collecting shit and not playing an FPS game. Then the developer commits all their time to continuously adding more and more cosmetic content to keep that group playing, like you would see in an MMO. All while the problems in the game or concerns from the comp community go ignored.

This killed TF2 and it's currently happening in Overwatch. OW has had a garbage matchmaking system for 5 seasons now, quite a few bugs, a game mode that just can't be saved and a pro scene in crisis. All of which the devs are just completely oblivious to.
