I agree, I think the hate was way overdone. I'd give it an 8 with the patches. It was lacking a bit honestly with the initial launch. Definitely worth $20.

I like it. Still haven't finished it because I got back into Fallout 4 and WoW but it's fun. My only complaint is some of the dialogue being poorly written and awkwardly given. The planets are really pretty and unique

I feel like ME:A is underrated. Yeah the animations were a mess (though I believe they've had patches to fix a lot of them) and the story + writing is inferior to the original trilogy, but the gameplay is, imo, the best in the series. I'd say it's worth $18.

Not really. The story is dumb and are you really playing Mass Effect for the gameplay? And it was really glitchy even then

There's just so many good and better games that exist in the world that I can never recommend Andromeda

Yup, for that price it is fine I would say. For all its (many) faults I don't think it is a bad game. Just... bad compared to the rest of the series, and not worth full price by any means.

Or just not one to take as seriously as the trilogy and to just play for a laugh.

I've started it recently myself. I'd say yes for that price.

It's not bad, pretty good actually on the whole.

But it is full of bad writing, plot-holes, glitches, contradititions, dumb characters etc.

Doing subquests is fun solving the world's problems and exploring planets is fun.

Honestly I think the game's biggest problem is that it IS a Mass Effect game. Meaning there is a constant "Why does this even exist?" question over the entire game and all of it's writing and characters are compared to ME1-3's writing and characters.

If it was a new IP, say Ryder's Rough Weekend about a bunch of aliens going off to Andromeda to build colonies, I think everyone would have been nicer to it.

But it's a sequel that is worse than its predacessors and continues a story that ended in a very grand (and sucky) fashion years ago. Then continues it badly
