Most games chosen by the Backloggery Fortune Cookie.

Just beat Banjo-Kazooie (N64) -- 4/10 Took me about 31 hrs to beat. Got all 100 jigsaw pieces and all 900 notes. Took me about 15-20 tries to beat the end boss.

A decent game ruined by awful underwater controls and a terrible camera. Being unable to move the camera around in several areas causes the entire screen to be filled by a wall or ceiling. The main hub is just an annoying convoluted mess. The "game show" right before the ending is just dumb (I hope you're not deaf as certain squares will be a 1-in-3 chance of you guessing correctly). The humor in the game was terrible. What's the point of having lives? Like with Super Mario 64, when you save and quit, then come back to it, you'll be back to the default 3 lives. If you get down to your last life, you might as well just save and reload so you automatically get 3 lives. Basically, whenever I started having any fun with it, either an atrocious underwater segment popped up or I needed to head into the hub. Definitely lost all interest in hunting down Banjo-Tooie.

I'd like to play EJ1 first, but don't own a copy. It's a shame that the Special Edition on Sega CD has been ridiculously priced for quite some time.

On another note, after almost 40 years, you'd think graphics in racing games would have gotten better. Sheesh:

I still own my Window 95 Special Edition CD but sadly it doesn't run at all without 9X. I'm so annoyed the Steam and GOG release is the DOS version.

You can't get it to work in any of the compatibility modes?

Oh, hey, that Atari release includes the entire comic book that came with SwordQuest: Earthworld.

I'm surprised it took this long for Tekken to get a vote.

It hates later operating systems (never even started for me under XP) and 64 bit operating systems are even worse for getting it running. If you have 7 / 8 32bit OS running, then you can probably try some user made fixes, but since my current PC came with Windows 10 64bit, I'm shit out of luck, I can't fix all the issues it will have.

Some day I'll find some old computer, install my copy of 98SE and get back to my classic games like that and Screamer (another I own on GOG, but their release suffers from regular crashes).

I'm calling it for FF8 (unsurprisingly). Maybe I can focus on the actual game and not get completely distracted by Triple Triad this time.

Since I figured Street Racer wouldn't win, I tried it out. For as rudimentary as the game is, it's actually pretty fun. And it supports 4-player simultaneous play, the first Atari 2600 game I've come across other than Warlords to do so. I could see it being a fun party game to pop in since there are a half dozen different games on it and each game has a 2 min 16 sec time limit.

I'm assuming you've never played it before so the nostalgia glasses don't apply (i.e unbiased opinion) but why a 4/10?

I originally made it to the end of disc 2 and found the main game to be meh. Didn't like it, didn't dislike it. I just lost interest in it.

Yeah, it was the first time I really played it (I played it for about 4 hrs when I bought it a few years ago, and I actually bumped it up from the 2-stars (out of 5) I gave it back then to 3-stars on my backloggery page). For me, a 4/10 is slightly below average. I found myself comparing it to Spyro the Dragon, which to me just blows B-K away. Nothing about B-K really captivated me.

Same. I didn't care for the characters, or their plight. Can't even remember what was going on, honestly. But I remember not giving a shit.
