I don't know how to feel right now. I'm surprisingly calm, I think because I hope everything will be alright.

His boyfriend posted on social media today, and is trying to get the family to get in touch with him. He went to a bar last night and his boyfriend hasn't heard from him since. His phone rings three times and then goes to voicemail when we try to call him.

Also apparently the authorities have been informed, but I thought there had to be a 24-hour wait to report a missing person?

I feel so useless right now, can't do much to help. They're in North Carolina.

Not really. Depends on the police department. Most will not require waiting for suspicious circumstances. Most if not all don't require a wait for children.

Pennsylvania law

Law enforcement agencies shall have the following duties with respect to missing children: (1) To investigate a report of a missing child immediately upon receipt of the report regardless of the age of the missing child or the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the child. In no case shall law enforcement agencies impose a mandatory waiting period prior to commencing the investigation of a missing child.

Some do have 24 hour periods if the grounds are not suspicious. Going to a bar and not returning home I would think would not fall under suspicious circumstances. Thus, if that department does have a waiting period, I would suspect you would have to wait. But, it has alrdy been almost 24 hours anyways.

Yeah with so many ways to reach someone nowdays and ways to verify where one person is, it's kind of crazy not being able to reach someone in that timeframe.

Anyway, looks like they got a hold of him. So him getting drunk and leaving with someone may have been what happened.
