How do you feel about my first and only play through of DS2 being full dex. Lul

When possible my parry/backstab would one shot most stuff.

I went full dex my first time through and eventually just turned into an archer. I haven't managed to get far in a second play through since, but this club just wrecks shit.

I hear the luck build with Anri's sword and excessive use of carthus rouge is op.

Honestly DS3 can be totally wrecked with int builds (int weapons + spells), you can snipe almost everything with the arrow spells, and what you can't easily destroy with them, you can use int based weapons to wreck. It's still nice to put a bit into faith though fore your Fire spells and miracles (few enemies are weak to fire, and there are useful miracles). You can get all that easily by mid game (including 60 int). Easiest run through the game for PVE at least.

For Ds2, maces work just fine and let you focus your stats on other stuff instead of pumping everything into strength. Getting a decent roll/potion drink speed helps a ton in Ds2 as well.

PvE for both is pretty easy though to be honest, although I do think Ds3 is easier over all (and a ton of firelinks).

Int based build (with raw melee initially or whatever the one is that isn't based on stats, then int later on), makes the game insanely easy. 60 int + the magic boosting rings/eq = kill just about everything before it can get to you.

I pretty much beat the whole game with the blacksmiths hammer, everything is friggin armored and weak to strike damage.

Yeah dude, strike damage owns pretty much everything in that game. You'll want a huge str weapon with a pancake R2 for the dlc

Pfft, the only way to play DS2 is to powerstance ultra greatswords. You're looking at a minimum 45 strength, 27 dex. At least 20 vit so you're not fat rolling with no clothes and 30ish agi for the iframes

There is another weapon you get right at the start...not Anri's sword....but I think it's Astora sword or something like that. Anyway it gets a larger boost from RAW gem, which makes it not be based on stats. It's better then the longsword, and requires a bit of faith to wield (like 12 or something but you'll want that anyway).

You could finish the game with it tbh, but mainly it lets you focus only on vitality for hp early on, and then int to 60, and enough faith to get the fire spells/faith spells you want.

Build just plows through the game. Get enough dex as well to use a bow early on (makes aiming with your staff easy...for sniping with arrow spells), and you are set.

You end up with a character with very high melee damage (through middle game with the Astora sword, late game with int based), VERY high long range spell damage (pretty much maxed when you hit 60 int and have the rings etc....easiest if you start as a mage so you get the ring right away, but Firekeeper is good to start out as well, and has better long term stats...you can get the mage ring later anyway).

Forget what the faith is you want to get, but there are a few good utility spells you'll eventually want, no rush though.

It's even easier if you pick Petrified Something as your starting gift and keep restarting until the crows give you a Demon's Great Hammer.

Yeah, raw astora sword is really good for any faith/magic build early

I use Anri's sword with a ton of luck. It's fun
