If I don't have a 4K TV is there any reason for me to get a Pro over a Slim?

And why the fuck did the UK get both the Gold and Silver PS4 but US only gets gold? Silver would look so much nicer on my entertainment center.

Pro can get you improved load times and also comes with an optical out if you need one (slim doesnt have one).

Do they make a third party X1 style controller for it?

Are load times bad? And I'm surprised it doesn't have an optical out. Did the regular PS4 have one? My old school X1 has one and I'm pretty sure my X1S does too though it's in my office and hooked up through HDMI.

Wrong

Many games will have a great boost to FPS(sometimes a barely 30 to a decent 60) and many more will have far more stable FPS (important for Nioh and Bloodborne)

Faster loading times, too

Well worth getting pro even without a 4K display

Pro has a higher download/upload speed cap, more storage too.

yeah the regular PS4 has one but not the slim. load times arent bad, but the boost is there.

and this. FPS boosts can be pretty noticeable, especially in certain multiplayer games. for example, the Pro has around 10-15 FPS advantage in Battlefield 1 multiplayer over the regular PS4 models.

Would getting a 500GB system be just as big of a mistake as it is for X1?

I'm mainly getting it for single player games. Do they take up a lot of space? Like for example Halo 5 is about 100GB but most of that is multiplayer shit.

You'll need an external hard drive.
You can of course delete games off of your drive whenever your done playing.
But you'd need to reinstall if you wanted to replay.

That's what I do on my X1 now, which isn't a big deal since I only play a few games at a time.

It looks like all the new ones are 1TB anyway. At least on GameSpot's website there's the main lineup of the gold slim, Pro, and regular slim. All 1TB.

Then there's some bundles which are 500GB but I think those are the older systems.
