Trump promised not to cut Medicaid on the campaign trail, although to be fair (and I mean this sincerely) I always thought he didn't know the difference between Medicaid and Medicare and kind of switched between the two without realizing what he was saying.

I share your feelings, TC. I think we know quite well by now that "moderate" Republicans are spineless and easily appeased by tokens. This vicious bill will kill millions of people, all in the name of transferring yet more wealth from the poorest to the richest Americans.

I don't have any easy solutions. I am doing what I can in my state. I'm writing a series of op-eds about how Medicaid expansion has been good for rural areas and rural hospitals in particular. I'm hoping to get people from rural areas of the state to send them in under their names.

it's probably just spitting into the wind, but hey. Gotta try something.

What even is there to do anymore. Any politicians good enough to vote for don't have enough rich friends to win. Strongly worded letters to government officials and protests are largely ignored.
