And I am afraid Kim will share the same fate as Chuck somehow

Given that the context of that namedrop was when Saul had a gun pointed to his head in his very first BB episode, I don't necessarily take this to mean that. All it means is that they'll probably run into each other again.

Why would Chuck survive this? his story is done
He is no longer in HHM
He burned down his relationship with Jimmy
He lost it with his illness
He has no reason to be in the show anymore

Not a chance Chuck survives. He was right at the source of the fire in the middle of a night with no hookups to cause any fast alerts. Not gonna be noticed until Chucks already a goner.

Hector survives, hijacks the ambulance, drives it to Chuck's place and runs into the burning house to save him. The fumes and smoke cause him brain damage which puts him in his wheelchair. Chuck does law stuff for the cartel after that as thanks.

Seriously this season had by far the biggest split in the two storylines. It was 2 different shows sewed together. I get that there are parallels and such but still, I want the storylines to mingle a little.

I think my favorite thing about the BB team is how powerfully they can associate a simple sound or object with horrifying events. Not to mention all the other symbolism around the gas lantern in this case.

I think my favorite one like that in BB is the tarantula. They used a tarantula in one of the BCS episode openings this season too.

this one was tough to watch. I think it's fascinating that it isn't Jimmy that drives Chuck over the edge, it's HHM. I mean, it's Jimmy indirectly with that malpractice thing but he defined himself as this god of the law and that being taken away results in his complete loss.

I agree that there are two separate storylines that have nothing to do with each other and that it would be nice for them to actually focus on one. Mike has almost no place in the current arc of the show.

The relationship between Jimmy and Gus is gonna be a pretty limited one. Saul knew of a "drug kingpin", but had no idea it was Gus when he first shows up in BB.

Yeah, I think Saul even says in BB, "I've never even met the guy," when he was telling Walt about him. But he knew of him through a connection, which we all assume to be Mike. Does Gus deal with Saul through Mike or another intermediary? Even if it's not directly, there's something that connects Saul and Gus, presumably something that leads Mike to Saul regarding Gus, so we can see how that goes.

Saul and Gus probably won't share the screen together (although they did in that first scene just for fun). The relationship through the intermediary might be nothing and pretty limited, but my feeling is they do a lot of business through that intermediary (likely Mike), but Gus isn't gonna show his face in Saul's office or even make Saul aware of who he is because he keeps such a tight circle.

Saul didn't seem to be particularly aware of Mike's connection to Gus in BB, either. Not only did he imply a much longer chain of connection to the man who turned out to be Gus, he was genuinely surprised when Mike busted into his office looking for Jesse at the end of S3.

I really see no intention of the two storylines meeting. This finale keeping them completely separate was kinda the nail in the head coffin there. Maybe Kim does meth later or something.

Gus being included in the story means you pretty much can't ever mix Mike and Jimmy. maybe for an episode or so when Gus isn't involved, but you can't pull him back at this point.

My initial thought was that it has to do with Gus's mysterious past that's referred to by Mike and Eladio in Breaking Bad, but that'd be kind of weird because I think Mike implies there that even he couldn't find anything about it to Gus when asked once.

If the two storylines are gonna meet up, I'm assuming it'll be Saul and Nacho more than anyone else, since we still haven't gotten the reason why the cartel would be looking for Nacho and why Saul knows this. They're probably not gonna meet for a while, though.

Any thoughts on what Season 4 will be or how it will start off?

I imagine it will be about Jimmy and Kim, the new office and where they go from here since they both seem kinda lost. the reaction to Chuck's death might drive a stake between them.

Mike's storyline will probably be around Gus and the fallout from Hector. Nacho will surely be a big part of that.
