It's just in the Opening, not the manga. Which is why I'm asking why. The manga is very good. Nice mix of action and politics.

I think it was trying to symbolize something, but from reading the manga it still makes no sense why by the end of the season 2 opening they have the beast titan running with a bunch of large animals.

The series has no character, and a lot of the mysteries have a predictable outcome. It also relies so hard on its politics when it isn't the interesting part of the series. The biggest thing that irks me is Eren. They build him up to be this big leader like character who won't let anything stand in the way of getting revenge on the titans. Except they throw that premise out the window and waste our freaking time the moment his character became ALL about turning into a titan. He's also so useless he lets Levi's first crew get slaughtered when they were nothing but nice to him.

Then the mystery, it turns out, is that his dad is the one who's actually important. Eren could've been a splat on the road if it weren't for his dad. Hurray for nepotism. It wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't the character we have to see the most, the one character this story is almost written around.

Not always. Definitely not this far as to have a big focus on the red dots and a sequence showing beings that aren't even hinted at.

What? That definitely isn't the case at all. Unless it only happened for a short span before you dropped the series. That's still a main trait of his. Until he learns about the truth of the Titans that is

That was a pretty good character building moment. It's not like he wanted him to get slaughtered, so I'm not sure what them "being nice" has to do with it. If anything, him going Titan when he was supposed to hold back shows that he was trying to avenge them since they were so nice.

What? How is that a problem? I'm really confused about your logic here. He's the main character and has a reason for surviving as far as he did, and for being as important as he is. Where is the problem? Has more to do with the fact that stories have something called characters more than "nepotism."

And you definitely sound like you dropped the manganime too early. He changes a lot. It's how stories are often told. Besides, we haven't even seen Eren for several chapters now in the manga anyway.

Not sure how you could possibly think that at all. But judging by your responses above (like how you thought Eren didn't care about team Levi when that was the driving force for his actions) shows that maybe it's just that you don't understand what's even going on. Eren is objectively a changed character at this point in the manga, and he also goes back to the premise of hating titans before then. So something really isn't adding up based on what you're posting. You say you read pretty far, and yet there seems to be a lot of basic things you don't even know of.

Actually, Eren just admitting that he's completely useless much much later when they're battling the armored and giant guys isn't exactly a "changed character" more than a "ruined character"

And I wasn't inferring Eren didn't care about Levi's team. He should've gone full Titan the moment any one of them died. His hesitation shows he's a bad character.

wat...I don't even...Are you sure you didn't just cliffnotes it? Because that sounds like even more inconsistencies rofl

after spoiling myself quite alot

this is basic story correct?

MASSIVE SPOILER DO NOT READ WITHOUT REALLY FAR IN MANGA

There are at most 7 special humans that can turn into titans because there was once a titan goddess named Ymir and she passed down the gene or something (???). The Yeager family is like royalty and Eren dad is mixed into the lineage of this titan goddess so he gives his two sons the right to be titans. Beast Titan is Eren's older brother.

There is like 2 or 3 governments competing for ownership of all 7 titans to rule the world.
The rest of the people who become titans are just fodder for their war?
To become one of the 7 you must eat them (like Ymir did) or extract their dna and inject it into yourself like Armin did to get the powers of the Collossal Titan.

There are quite a number of inaccuracies and flat out incorrect statements. But I refuse to continue to have a discussion regarding plot lines that haven't been revealed in the anime for the fear of spoiling the show to anyone. You're better off continuing the discussion in the latest manga chapter discussion.

https://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/2000121-anime-and-manga-other-titles/75432334

Heck, it sounds like you just read a wiki and tried to get the story from that. Did you read the manga? If not, stop asking to be spoonfed the literal point of reading a story and GO READ IT.

sounds kinda stupid actually

not sure it is worth the time and money

for perspective, to read the manga means to pay extra money for volumes, like $10 for a few chapters or sub to crunchyroll (think they have it)

the anime is free to watch but is being made at a snails pace

but I suspect some are reading it illegally

I enjoyed the anime where it finished enough to buy the manga, but stopped reading when it became about anti-personnel gears or w/e lmao, just use guns bros. The people that came to take Ymir had guns. The people in the wall have flare guns. Yet wtf is this anti-personnel gear lmao

I will admit the characters were the 2nd weakest part of the series (the manga artstyle is... really bad). But this past few manga chapters and episodes made me appreciate characters like Ymir and Reiner, they're much more interesting and intricate than meets the eye. Problem is that the main focus is on Mikasa, Eren, and Armin, who just aren't very compelling characters. But I will say that at this point in the manga, the characters have never been more colorful and I really enjoy seeing their interactions.

I'm not lying.

It may be more than 10% exactly (I just said a number indicative of it being relatively a low percentage of correct facts), but you did miss out on a lot more.
-There's nine "special titans"
-Your explanation of Ymir is kind of true, but sounds like you clearly didn't read it from the manga because it's a LOT more complex than what you said
-Ymir isn't really a "goddess"
-Yeager family isn't royalty. Them not being royalty is actually a major plot point
-You saying Eren's father "gave his sons the right to be titans" is completely wrong, and is a lot more complex than just that as well.
-Zeke/Beast Titan is Eren's half brother, which is also a pretty big plot point for other reasons (such as the identity of their respective moms)
-The "2 or 3 government" point is completely wrong and very misconstrued from what really happened.
-There's a lot more than a handful of governments at play, but not for what you think
-Some of the titans are "fodder," some are not. It's also yet again much more complex than just that, and the implication that they are merely "fodder" missed the entire point of the titans
-The "war" is completely different from what you seem to think
-Armin didn't inject the dna of a titan
-You can't just gain the traits of one of the original 9 by just "injecting"

So yeah, definitely a LOT of wrong there, and that's with me trying not to nitpick. And the 10% or a low percent is definitely fitting considering how massive some of the things you got wrong.

I don't know i haven't watched or read the books but every preview and scenes I've seen online looked terrible.
besides there's so many plot holes when it comes to titans attacking anyway. I just don't think it's written well.

Dude, if you read the manga, you'd know the author has had the basic outline for the entire story, and lore well defined FROM THE FIRST CHAPTER. You really don't know what you're talking about.

For real. Like Grisha's wife. And watching the anime after reading the manga, so many things and the actions certain people do make so much more sense. And the manga isn't even over yet.

It was an official app accepted by Apple to be distributed on their appstore, but idk lol.

It's called MangaReader.

Why are you bothering with darkphoenix? He has maybe a cliffnote understanding at best and is dead set on hating it all. I can understand hating certain things or parts (can't say I'm looking forward to season 3 when it's gonna be all uprising arc) but if you hate it all then there's no point.

I am not dead set on hating it. I actually like AoT. But that part sounds really stupid to even a fan like me.
Maybe the way it is presented through the story is better, idk.

But at base it sounds stupid.

So yes, I do consider with that in mind whether it worth it to buy volumes for ~$10 each or just wait till the anime catches up 4 years from now.

If this app is not expensive, maybe I get to read it.

it's amazing how the premise that gets people into attack on titan is abandoned about 5% into the story

if uprising ever gets animated there are going to be riots

I like how you still say this when I literally proved that even with your cliffnotes there's a shitton you don't know or understand properly. Funny how quick you were to call me a liar, then you dodged my response when I proved how I was telling the truth.

And on the topic of the anime, it'll take much longer than 4 years to catch up tbh. Unless they decide to show each season right after one another instead of waiting.
