Emerald and OR/AS are pretty damn good. The latter would probably be my favorites if they included the Battle Frontier rebattling of gym leaders. Gym leaders being listed in the Trainer's Eye was so misleading. The Delta Episode was a cool bonus though. I thought the Pokenav Plus was a nice feature too. I'd like to see that fleshed out in future games (e.g. to allow you to research Pokemon habitats, observe Pokemon in the wild and catch them in unique ways).

ORAS made me realize how awful Gen 3 was and also how much I hate Pokemon in general.

They dumbed it down way too much, it didn't have the same fun factor of the original games and I personally liked the original art style a lot more and was sad that they didn't try to replicate with the 3D models somehow

I hated the whole Hoenn map and only managed to finish Ruby once. Every time I've tried playing Emerald or Alpha Sapphire afterwards, I end up losing interest around Fallarbor Town. Even getting a shiny Treecko as my starter in Emerald wasn't enough to make me want to finish the file.

I'm in the process of playing AS right now and just reached Fallarbor. Yesterday, I hatched a shiny adamant Scyther with some perfect IVs and the rest near perfect (mid 20's), so that may just motivate me to push through the slump. The move tutors are the main reason I decided to give AS another shot.

As much as I hate Gen 3, it's still better than Gen 4. I'd be completely fine if they never remake D/P/Pt.

G/S/C is clearly the best

We didn't realize that the Pokemon series would just be the same **** over and over again, and it was a big advancement from R/B/Y. I mean it included the entire Kanto region! That was awesome.

There should never be a Pokemon remake again. It should have ended at HGSS.

Another reason I hated Gen 3 at the time was that it removed features that G/S/C added, like the day/night cycle and the ability to import your old Pokemon.

I definitely had the fondest memories of G/S/C. The hype for Gen 2's release was unreal.
