The only close up magic act that I've seen that can compete with this one is Shin Lim's 52 shades of red. Vastly different approach though, that's 99% sleight of hand while Tsai's has a bit of it, but it's mostly something fishy going on with the table.

I even watched a slowmo video of it, and then put THAT VIDEO on 0.25 speed.

Still too fucking fast, especially the coins turning into petals.

Probably a mix between mirrors, magnets, trap doors, and other contraptions.
It's still a fun trick though.

The way the video skips makes it look like the video itself may have been edited. It would be a neat trick to sleight-of-hand the tapes >_>

Otherwise, I assume he just palmed the cards. The surface of the table *might* have had sheets of black material on it which were moved when he was moving the cards over them, which would have hidden or revealed coins in the process. At the end, the way he primes his fingers suggests that static electricity may have been used to flip over pieces of cloth to switch the coins and petals. Alternatively, he *could* have had petals affixed to the palm of his hand and used the gesturing to drop them over the coins.

However, given that he likely chose the camera angle, the entire board could be heavily contrived with tricks visible from any other angle. Camera magic is basically meaningless. By controlling the camera angle, you can easily hide things that people would see if they were actually there.

At any rate, the judges look like they're seeing a magic trick for the very first time. Those reactions were overblown.

Obviously it was just Satan moving the coins, since he's invisible, you can't see the coins and petals when he has them.

He works for well known magic gimmick company. He has a whole line of magic gimmicks with his name on them. So you can be sure that it's the table doing all the work. The ivy hanging underneath helps disguise the true thickness of the table required for the mechanisms built into it. The pot on the ground that the ivy is coming from may even hide the foot pedals he used to activate the various switches that do the trick. Everyone watching the trick on a screen, from a specific and carefully chosen angle was probably necessary to keep people from seeing the mechanisms working. They may be quick enough for a camera to miss but not quick enough to fool an up close human eye.
