brickseek is 100% accurate. I check it every day and finally a walmart close to me stocked the neon switch and it was actually there and had the exact amount the website said.

Life is great

Fuck, I'm so happy man. If anyone is having trouble finding one, use brickseek for Walmart. The dude was opening the shipment when I got there (I got there at opening)

Feels good, man

Happy for you! I can't believe the Switch is still so hard to come by. Good for Nintendo. They could have a huge holiday with Odyssey.

Are Switch's hard to find?

I haven't been paying attention. >_>

How would it compare to the Wii shortages in 2005-6?

Yes. You can't buy them online at all except in 500-600 dollar bundles from gamestop with 20 dollar shipping.

And in store they are always sold out, especially the neon. I checked brickseek everyday and target all the time to see if they had it in stock.

Really? Because I showed up at store opening and I wasn't the first person to get the switch. Someone was already buying one by the time I walked to the Electronics section even though I walked in when the employee locked the doors.

Then there was people behind me to buy the rest. And this was all within 5 minutes of opening time

Wowzers.

I'd give Nintendo shit for deliberately undershipping for the sake of their collective hard-on for appearing valued and in high-demand.

But IIRC there were legit hardware issues at launch, so i'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume the system is hard to find because they can't produce enough quality units. >_>

yeah, it's fucking insane. I don't want to say buy one if you see one because I hate scalpers, but if you want one or if you know anyone who does I would jump on it if you see it in person

Wal-Mart opening? Aren't all just 24-7 now?

I don't understand why some areas are having trouble with shortages. My game stop and target usually have then in stock every time I go.

At one point they started shipping by air (absolutely unheard of for retail due to the cost) because the demand is so high.
It most definitely is not their typical artificial shortage.

The air-shipped units were shipped prior to launch. Basically, the demand got so high, they had to air ship units so that more stores would have more of them at launch.

That's exactly right. Atores sold out of their preorders on day one, and some stores had upwards of 100 preorder units available. My local store had 75 preorders available, got an additonal 20 preorders, and had an extra 75 at launch. All gone day one.
