The first one was mildly amusing because of the weird Disney gimmick--definitely not worth spawning endless sequels though. I dont get it. Disney is kind of stupid to begin with tbh.

Oh, I was going to knock you for the perceived hate on the first, which I thought was great, but this is more about the sequels of which I'm somewhat indifferent because they abandoned the more Disney elements in favor of some general SE villains.

Alright.
- Story. I liked the story better in the first game as it was more simple. The ending hit me right in the feels. Although with that said I'm very much looking forward to seeing how the Dark Seeker Saga ends.
- Character development - Ties into the above I suppose but the series has created great characters Riku, Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, Xemnas and Axel being some of my favourites.
- Boss fights - The series has always had great boss fights for me. Some were even a challenge. When I first played Kingdom Hearts 15 years ago I was stuck on Maleficent(Dragon) for months. The satisfaction I got from beating her felt really good and even now with games like Birth By Sleep I found beating Young Xehanort a challenge.
- Gameplay - Magic, Summons and some crazy attacks always keep me entertained.
- I'm a Final Fantasy fan - Seeing final fantasy characters in the series like cloud and Sephiroth is great.
- Nostalgia - Playing through worlds in the series bring back some good memories from when I was a kid. It made me really happy when The Nightmare Before Christmas was a world in the first and second game as that's one of my favourite movies. Now Disney own many things now the likes of Marvel and Star Wars could even be added to the series at some point.

That's the main reasons I love the series and will continue to do so.

I've felt this since I played the first game.

And I'll add that I never really understood the story of the second game. I always just thought the series was popular because JRPG fans and Disney fans got what they wanted.

I don't know about the news of the third game coming out, but I like to poke fun at my friends who have been waiting for it since we were in high school.

Didn't really take to this series. Don't know why.

I can't put my finger on it but there's just something about this game that never got me interested.

I watched my brother play it and thought it was amusing as it's a mash of Disney and SQUARE....but in the end it was....meh.

It's the opposite actually.

It's really not lol. It was initially under the direction of the person who made Kingdom Hearts. Then it switched directors and that's when the whole hold circle to play the game came in. Most of what stayed was the visuals. It looks like the same game but it isn't.

The game's been strung along so long I forgot it took three years after the re-announcement. I'm not entirely convinced they even did much work on the game itself prior to 2013. If they did, that's some Duke Nukem Forever level mismanagement.

I still have both games.
Kingdom Hearts annoys me, but maybe I need to replay it.
I remember looking around an island for a bunch of crap, looking around Wonderland for a bunch of crap, then getting stuck In Monstro's belly for a really long time.
Kingdom Hearts 2 is way more playable for me, although the story feels kind of convoluted.

The single thing I didn't like about KH2 is that it dumbed down the exploration aspect. I still enjoyed it though and other than that I like it better than the first.
