Do you support planned parenthood?

16 y/o Zoe Balestri and 17 y/o Karolina Montes from New York City support PLANNED PARENTHOOD and wore dresses made out of CONDOMS for a fashion show they had at their New York Private High School!!

The Ethical Culture Fieldston School holds a fashion show every year and students were challenged to make clothes out of non-traditional materials..and these 2 girls decided to use stickers and condoms for their outfits!

They said they wanted their dresses to haev meaning and strongly believe in Planned Parenthood.

Karolina said "It just seems like such an important part of our culture, that we need to have saver methods of family planning and we need to education. That's the main point is to educate people.

Zeo says "They're trying to shut down Planned Parenthoods and make abortion illegal and that really frightens and saddens me, because it's such an amazing thing that is provided for women. I have friends who use PP services. It's been there for people in high school, in college, in adulthood, for people who can't afford to have a child, or other circumstances. it's necessary"

Their dresses are indeed politicial as hoop skirts were popular at a time when women weren't given the same access to things that men are..and felt it was symbolic to reflect that.

Their bandeau crop top was sewed together using condoms that said "Don't eff with us, don't eff without us".

Zoe said "When i walked down the runway, i think some people thought it was funny that i was wearing condoms on the top, but i think it was a great way to bring people out of their confomrt zones a little bit, and de-stigmatize something that shouldn't carry any stigma at all."

Both were not old enough to vote in the last election but both, and millions of other young millenials will have their voices heard in 2020...

The crowd were seen cheering loudly and clapping for their dresses...

Do you support Planned Parenthood?

Zoe and Karolina -

You know you'd be arrested for that if you ever stepped foot in the US, though, right? Because the US specifically has laws regarding that sort of thing. >_>

Then again, guys who cross state borders have gotten away with statutory in the US itself so maybe not:
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/03/11/fugitives-next-door/6262719/

So it's weird that our federal laws are so keen on pursuing people who either engage in sex tourism abroad or encourage minors to travel abroad to sleep with them.

Honestly, America would've possibly been better off in the long run if it had either stayed British or let the South secede (slavery was going to end on its own anyway, even General Lee opposed it. Then there are the economic factors from European powers frowning on it and the North being the industrialized portion of the country, undoubtedly leading to internal strife - the mother of all collapse).

The electoral college is stupid because it devalues the votes of one demographic to favour another now. At its inception it made sense, now it just lets the rural conservative Christians have a larger say than is fair. The majority isn't spoken for. It's a sham. The popular vote corroborates this.

There's no benefit to staying British and the North/South divide wouldn't necessarily improve politics today since the mid-west typically votes conservative. It's not like there's a solid block connecting the liberal parts of the country together like there is for the conservative:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_states_and_blue_states

The bigger issue is that the federal government is all-encroaching -- which it was NEVER intended to be -- so federal politics has seeped into most facets of our lives. Taxation also wasn't nearly this crazy because, for most of the US's existence, there either wasn't a federal income tax or the income tax was negligible (because we got most of it off tariffs, which protected US labor at the same time). Worse still, we pay in absurd amounts of time and essentially those tax dollars are used to deprive citizens of rights and states of autonomy.

Half-safe only counts in horseshoes.

And the public funding claim for abortion is silly and misleading since accounting is fungible and the proceeds going to one area means that they don't have to be removed from the other. Honestly, if Planned Parenthood is going to continue the claim that abortion really is a small part of its business model, then it would make sense to drop it. Otherwise stop pretending.

Which was addressed by the first part of my post -- which you curiously clipped -- but ultimately your response has no correlation to my comment. If 3% of your business is causing 99% of your problems, you would drop the 3%. Clearly it's either not 3% or it's the primary function of their organization and, in either case, they should stop pretending that it's a small part.

Except it's not a question of business. It's a question of public service. The public funding isn't so that PP can continue to make its employees and managers rich, it's so it can continue to provide an essential service. You seem to be horrifically missing the point here, which would be funny if not for the fact that similarly-misinformed people voted with the intent of effecting change within that misguided view.

The fact that they're federally funded is largely how they're able to offer abortion services. Without that money coming in, they couldn't keep the lights on. Ergo, the claim that the particular batch of money isn't funding abortions -- which also might not be 100% true because they're narrowing defining the services associated with it -- is little more than a semantic trick.

Except that it literally changes nothing. Whether you call them a business or a public service, they highlight the other things they do while claiming that abortion is only a tiny portion of their business. However, if that were true and the other services they provided were so important, they wouldn't jeopardize everything by engaging in the ONE controversial activity they have. And if you weren't so misinformed and so lacking in reasoning abilities, you'd recognize that. Granted, even you seem to be highlighting abortion as its only essential service so maybe your whole diatribe is an elaborate wink and a nod to show that you know it's a complete falsehood but you're going to spread it anyway.

Or, you know, maybe they feel they shouldn't compromise on that service just because of political pressure, because it's a fight worth fighting. I'm not sure why PP having a spine is such a hard concept for you to grasp.

If PP had a spine, it wouldn't be pretending that these other services of greater import or trying to drastically understate what portion of its services pertain to abortion through deceptive classification.

Only a high school dropout wouldn't understand such a relatively basic principle. Granted, I guess I should consider myself lucky that you're even literate... or unlucky, since if you were illiterate you wouldn't be wasting my time trying to demonstrate how dense you are.

Oh the irony of this post.
