Yaldabaoth isn't a random demon god out of nowhere - he was created from people's willingness - as a whole - to overlook societal issues so it doesn't disrupt the status quo. It's probably the most important issue Persona 5 takes a look at, and it results in the game making the best use of Level 10 Social Links by far. I'd say Persona 5 has the most unified ending in terms of theming throughout the game. 3 has this elaborate backstory for Apathy Syndrome and how it results in this apocalyptic scenario, but it was still manufactured. 4's "reach out to the truth" theme works incredibly well for the party, but extending it out to all of society it falls flat. The rest of society isn't made up of detectives and superpowered teens, so they have no real stake in the mystery. 5 involves society with the polls and the political angles, and I think makes a much better case for why everything is happening. My favorite aspect is how all of the villains you face throughout the game were escapees from this group mentality. During that period, he doesn't do anything to make friends with the party or whatever, despite that kinda being the point of his previous Confidant encounters with Joker. And then, when you confront him at the very end, he talks about his relationship with Joker and how similar they are or whatever, but we didn't get any of that when he was with the group. It was just such a wasted opportunity. Made him an incredibly boring character. I was stressing out so much, I would have been super pissed if I missed it by one day. It was Tower, and the ironic thing was the reason I started it so late was because I would compile all my Mementos trips together to save time, not realizing that one of the missions unlocks a Confidant. In the end, even if I was forced to use my last back-up save (well, the last one after the last Palace I completed, I wasn't going through all that shit again) to restart it wouldn't have helped, I needed EVERY SINGLE day he appeared in order to max him. I suppose it's my fault for not using a guide, but I felt like that would ruin the gameplay by a ton. I think that was important, I had a lot of fun coming up with the right strategy on how to max everything and make the best use of my time so it was worth it. The only problem was near the end when everybody I needed just stopped appearing for no reason. Couldn't predict some things, but in the end I was super satisfied with my work. Well, I mean, because it ended up working out in the end. Also, I didn't discover you could mail postcards until literally the last time slot in the last day. That would have a helped a lot. The only way around it is to fuse messiah piccoro with certain treasure persona.
