The whole 'your character will carry over thing' is going to be a shit show, though. If they keep old classes, everyone will complain it's a retread. If they add new classes, the old classes will either be pointless or the new ones will have to be weaker. They have balance problems enough as is, and I don't see any way to incentivize the new content without making the old content hacky. Well considering the PvP is Destiny-flavored Halo, 4v4 is pretty standard. Not every game needs as many players on a team as possible.
