You'd have a point if the comics posted were blatantly partisan, but seeing as a lot of them trigger dudes like Mal_Fet just for printing words like "patriarchy" and "gender-neutral", it comes off as a little sad.

I don't care if they're left wing, right wing, Democrat, Republican, ect. Partisanship has nothing to do with it. Tacking on some gratuitous message which has nothing to do with what's going on is disruptive. It's just like how some people get annoyed with the "death sticks" scene in Star Wars. That wasn't political in the slightest, but randomly telling people that smoking was bad for them going had nothing to do with what was going on in that scene, that film, or anything else in that entire series. It was just a time out for a very important (and very hamfisted) message.

Suffice to say, how many people eventually got charged is irrelevant because no sufficient voter ID laws were in place to know for sure who voted illegally. The only sources I could find in opposition to this obvious fact are sites that accuse people of being racist for wanting ID laws and who insist that because only 38 cases could be brought to trial that the amount of illegal votes wasn't high, as if having no voter ID law wouldn't make it almost impossible to charge people for fraud.

Here's my favorite bit from Alternet:

Moreover, having a photo ID requirement to obtain a ballot would do nothing to end the confusion surrounding ex-felons prematurely registering to vote. They can do that with a driver’s license. If illegal felon voting is in fact a problem, then the solution lies with telling probation officers to better-inform their charges, not new statewide voting rules.
