Emblem is 100% right. When you do a fast like that you are going to throw your metabolism for a loop. Your body is going to think you are starving and go into starvation mode. Not only will you gain the weight back, but it is very possible to gain further weight because of overcompensation.

Not necessarily that. I mean fasting isn't always bad as long as you're smart about how you do it and don't do it for too long. It's just that tc is just going to go back to his shitty diet and just end up gaining the weight back and learn nothing

How can you sincerely say all of those assumptions as fact? You even know what I will learn before I even learn it? come on

The 3 reasons you posted for fasting don't show that you plan to start better eating habits

Reducing caloric intake and using my willpower to improve definitely do, and even if you were right it still wouldn't give you the ability to know what I will or won't learn from the whole thing.

Delicious as fuck, filling and relatively healthy.

Have you made lentil tacos before? It is so damn good. We make them like they would be beef tacos.

Na I haven't. With the right seasoning I can see it being good as tacos though.

No, I still don't get how lentils, rice, and greek yogurt don't sound depressing as fuck though,

What's your average day of of meals look like?

You have my permission to make up whatever you think my average meals look like and then make fun of it or whatever accordingly. I can't imagine a scenario where the specifics will help anything at all. If you have such a scenario let me know.

I'm curious what your idea of non depressing foods are

Pizza is non-depressing. Having a pizza and watching a movie, and/or having popcorn too, while having a diet or regular soda (I'm basically indifferent on this choice but people give me seemingly equal amounts of shit for either option)

That would be fun and non-depressing.

There is a difference between fasting techniques. What he wants to do is not eat any foodstuffs for an entire week and only drink water. That will, in fact, damage your metabolism and often results in over-eating after the fasting.

2 months ago I water fasted for over 10 days. after resuming eating I gain some temporary water/food weight, and got right back on track to my ~2lbs/week weight loss. starvation mode isnt a reality, and fasting is very sparing of your metabolism. so long as he has enough body fat, an extended fast (when done properly) is of no real risk to him.

Pizza and popcorn are good. I've actually started to not like pizza much. I find it... lacking. I don't know, recently stopped being a fan the past couple years.

Anyway, if rice, yogurt, and lentils sounds depressing, I don't know what to tell you. Is it the taste or just the idea of it?

Explain this to me:
Our bodies are pretty well designed to try to stay alive. We store up fat for this very purpose, so then why would our bodies as hunters and stuff start eating away at our muscles before the fat? The whole fucking point is that hunters could survive a while between hunts if they had built up fat reserves. A water fast is doing exactly what the body is designed for: Burning fat and mostly keeping muscle during a period where food cannot be found.

It would not make sense for us to develop such that the first or major thing we burn when not finding food is muscle.

Right?

personally, I reached the weight I'm at and probably can't get any bigger no matter how hard I try (No I'm not some morbidly obese fatso that can't even get out the chair, I can run, do pushups, play basketball and everything just like a skinny person, but I have more of a "frame" if that makes sense. Like if I worked out and stuff I would have all the genes I need to be a bodybuilder or something)

I don't think I'm ever really full, so it's near foreign to me how some people can have a PB&J and some crackers for lunch and not eat until 6 hours later

I guess I'm just one of those big appetite people, with my brain being as busy as it is I tend to work up an appetite

A 2000 calorie soylent diet provides 100% daily intake of all required vitamins, fiber, protein and etc.

By sticking with it, it's simple and if you are overweight you will lose weight.

It is not intended as a weight loss product but would by far be the easiest one to do since all you have to do is mix it with water into the 2000 calorie container and portion it through out the day.

Carbs transform into the same thing as sugar. We're not meant to eat so much at once. Our body likes it because it used to be rare once and it meant our survival, now we indulge in it just because it feels good.

Which sucks, admittedly.

Soda is not healthy but it's better for you than cocaine.

Sure its better but not healthy.

I work 50+ hours a week in restaurant jobs and work out about 5 times a week. I weigh about 140, and probably eat between 3000-4000 calories a day, and cannot gain weight lol.
