I would say 2017 made me get back into it/pay attention. I stopped after 2014 as I was bored to tears/saw no releases to look forward to

It's like on one hand I wouldn't mind selling my PS4 but I am not in a rush to get rid of it

My interest in gaming have not decreased but the problem is that I usually don't feel like doing it for whatever reason. Even when I'm in the mood for it I still have difficulties to boot something up.

I still read and think about videogames most of the day though.

Me too, which is odd. I have issues booting up games when sober ( I guess I'm getting old) but I want to stay involved/keep current with the industry

Definitely decreased. Increasing my work hours by about 30-50% doesn't help. And two nights a week of bowling.

Pretty much that. I can't think of anything in the past few years that was mind blowing.

Eh. I still game a lot in my free time, but it's never anything new. I mainly just play MW2 and SSB4. I've been about one console generation behind for some time now. Like I got a Wii U about 6 months before the Switch release, I've been playing PS3/Xbox 360 since around the PS4/XBone came out...

I guess I do have interest in gaming, but not new gaming.

Interesting. A common complaint these days is that games are too easy and there is too much hand-holding.

I will say - Xenoblade Chronicles X had so many stats that, after 100+ hours of gameplay, I still don't know what half of them do. So if you mean that type of complexity, then yeah, I get that.

My interest in playing new games has definitely decreased, but I still like playing older games I may have missed, as well as the occasional new one. I'd say overall it's probably increased, since the backlog of possible games I might play only just keeps getting bigger and bigger as I can't play through games fast enough to keep up.

Pretty constant although the internet and abundance of information available takes away a lot of what made video games fun for me when I was a kid. I kind of miss how everything was learned by word of mouth or by watching your friends/family members play.

nah I don't miss that at all but completely understand. Perfect example; Mortal Kombat fatalities. I don't miss having to pray I find a magazine/person who knows it in order to figure them out. But at the same time it was awesome when you found both

I personally think games have gotten way more complicated and without the internet we'd probably all be screwed/frustrated (imagine trying to find everything in Pokemon Sun on your own, even if it is hand holdy)

Haha, I remember in school there was one kid who knew all the MK 1 fatalities by heart and was he was considered a super badass because of this. I had that omg this is aweome moment when I finally learned how to do them

By complexity, I mean the crazy amount of capabilities you have in some games today. Not to say that's a bad thing, I just often have trouble remembering the key/key combos to do tasks at that level of immersion.

My interest hasn't decreased...

Rather, the game can't hold my interest for very long. Even with old titles I used to play. I get distracted easily now...

Another sign of aging I suppose.

I still buy games and there are still some titles I look forward to but...I usually drop it a while after playing it. That, I find troubling. :/

Has your interest in gaming decreased or increased over time?

Nope. I'm still very much interesting in video games and where gaming is heading. I've however got more smart in the gaming purchases I make. I find very little reason to rush out and buy games on day one anymore due to how broken and cut up a lot of games are these days. There is still the odd exception to that rule though like with Witcher 3, Persona 5 and probably Kingdom Hearts 3 when that comes out. Hell even consoles are starting to fall into that category. Buying day one isn't worth it anymore and with mid gen upgrades being a thing I'm questioning if it's even worth buying the original modes at all. It were different in the past with the slim models as they were just slimmer versions of the original console. Mid gen upgrades beef up the specs a bit more.

I feel the same way but It's not that hard to stay away from info. Perhaps I should avoid reading up on gaming/following news with more games. I already do it with a few that I know are coming and I'll be buying if all goes to plan. Although I will say some research is probably a must with games these days given how DLC is handled and whatnot.

My interest in RPG games seem to have decreased, I'm more into action games now instead of games where you have to sit through endless dialogue and leveling up a couple levels just so you can beat a boss while waiting your turn just to attack.

It's never been consistent; I'd say my interest has increased and decreased at different times over the years. I've gone through funks where I completely lost interest in gaming and there have been times where I had a lot of stuff going on irl that there was no way I could make time for a game. Currently, I'd say I'm back in to them.

Decreased with age. I spend more and more time on 'productive' hobbies like reading non-fiction, writing, learning a language etc. As a kid I could play a game like Runescape for something like 8 hours straight. Now I would feel guilty playing over 2 hours.

This about summed it up. I used to have multiple consoles hooked up but now I've only been playing ps3 exclusively. Plus, a new game to me is whatever I find for under $10. Right now I'm playing Borderlands 2 and Dead Space.
