A lot of late shows are riding the Trump train. He gives them gold material, they shill for the ratings thus bigger paychecks. Can't blame them.

A lot of news networks too, clearly CNN is all aboard.

Exactly. If only people could understand that ALL main stream media outlets are on par with shows like The Tonight Show or The Late Show - and understand that everything on TV is a production that is glorified for ratings. People only look-out for themselves. People only want to advance their careers. They only want to gain personal satisfaction and gain a larger audience.

I'm not saying Trump isn't a sleazeball, but I think things are overly dramatic.

Awwwm Colbert is hurting those thin, sensitive conservative feelings! Their fragile egos can't handle the criticism, even when its done under the banner of comedy. They've spent their whole life sheltered, and we must protect them from the scary man on TV saying mean things about a fascist in the white house.

Maybe because most of the criticism is he is just not funny and is going after the low hanging fruit of comedy. As someone that was a fan of Colbert the actor, Colbert the late night host is shit.

Beating Fallon in the ratings (which, in my view, isn't much of an accomplishment because Fallon feels like a poor man's Leno and isn't funny in the least). I'm not a Trumper, but Colbert sucks. And the entire monologue is just Trump bashing. It gets boring. Talk about other things in the world and Hollywood.

Was there a major presidential scandal back when you used to watch late night?

Because when Monica Lewisnki started telling stories that's all the news media and the late night talk shows focused on. Because when the President is involved in a scandal, it kinda dominates the conversation.

It's weird people complaining about Colbert in politics though. That's what he's good at, it's what made him famous. He's been doing politics for seventeen fucking years. That's what got him the Late Night job in the first place. He'd be talking politics regardless of what happened...
