It shouldn't be a 80-20, unless 2003 is on the 80 side.

- Pokemon Ruby and Saphire are way better than Red and Blue. Better graphics, extremely better UI, much more polished and thought out battle system, better Pokemon themselves, etc.
- Xenosaga Episode I was an amazing cinematic JRPG that really advanced the genre. Xenogears had a baffling and pretentious story, and it got way worse with the infamous Disc 2.
- Final Fantasy X-2 has my waifus Yuna and Rikku while Final Fantasy Tactics is a slow, poorly translated mess. If you want to play a real SRPG, play Fire Emblem or Disgaea. And hey, guess what year has those!
- Wind Waker vs. Ocarina of Time goes without saying. Wind Waker just obliterates Ocarina, no explanation needed.

And it just goes on and on. GameFAQs is insane.

FFX-2 alone is enough of a reason to have 2003 removed from the history of gaming, no matter how great some other games came that year.

I have to admit. If you're going to have x-2 being represented. Then just go all out and put some yuna cleavage in the pics.

Some people actually find that the original translation has more charm to it than the more modern version in WotL.

I'll give you Red/Blue vs. Ruby/Sapphire. Gen 3 is just better than Gen 1. You're right on that.

The rest of your opinions are just wrong. This blowout in favor of '98 is wholly deserved.

I feel the exact opposite on all of your points except Disgaea. It is infinitely better than FFT.

Wind Waker is a poor 3D Zelda because of the awful overworld and Triforce hunt.

Ruby/Sapphire did add some good things... but it also fucked up quite a lot of things, such as cut out Pokemon, and added Natures and EVs without letting you properly manipulate them. Sure, later games added Synchronize + EV berries, but when going by RS alone, the implementation just sucked. Not to mention Emerald makes them obsolete more than Yellow and Crystal did (Yellow was arguably worse).
